1. Sole LCR Recumbent Bike Review

Sole LCR Recumbent Bike
Sole LCR Recumbent Bike

One of the most popular and best seller high-end Recumbent bikes on the market is the Sole LCR recumbent exercise bike. In this Sole LCR recumbent bike reviews will go over all the key features that make the LCR Sole Fitness bike one of the best.

This top-of-the-line recumbent comes with every feature required to provide the most comfortable exercise that a recumbent could possibly offer. From the commercial quality frame and components to the soft cushioned adjustable seat, backrest and step through design.

LCR is a commercial quality machine that can provide up to 5 hours smooth cardio workout every day. Sole LCR Recumbent bike is constructed with heavy steel tubing along with aluminum shroud.

The solid materials used in the LCR make this bike indestructible while still keeping it portable and easy to move it around the house. For easy portability, there are two transport wheels in front of the frame and a solid lift handle in the back.

There are two water bottle holders on the sides of the frame while one is below the console to allow you to keep your phone, protein shake, water etc reachable on the machine.

Sole LCR Recumbent Exercise Bike – Seat And Backrest

The seat is easily adjustable through a lever rather than a time-consuming knob. The adjustment lever allows you to move/slide the seat forward and backward while you are seated on the bike. The users between 5.3″ to 6.5 should be able to adjust the seat and find a good exercise position. While the backrest is soft with a few degree angle and a great lumbar support which is super comfortable but it’s not adjustable.

It would have been better if the backrest was also height and angle adjustable. Hopefully Sole will add this feature to this Recumbent Exercise bike in the future. The seat is fully cushioned and possibly the most comfortable recumbent seat on the market for long workouts.

However, if you have the prostate problem, we suggest you to follow our tips on how to make a recumbent machine more comfortable and probably purchase a gel cushion and add it to this Sole Fitness Exercise bike. The gratuitous lump between the thighs on all bikes brings pressure on the prostate and it can be painful for men with the prostate issue.

Sole LCR Recumbent – Drive Mechanism

Manufactured in the good old USA, Sole recumbent bikes features excellent drive mechanism. LCR recumbent bike features belt drive mechanism and 31-lb flywheel. While the belt drive is common on recumbent bikes, the 31-lb flywheel is hard to find. There is no other recumbent bike in this price range that can compete with Sole LCR Recumbent, in terms of the flywheel weight.

The heavy flywheel provides a gym quality smooth consistent pedaling motion for users up to 350 pounds. Sole Recumbent bike LCR also features 1-40 levels of Electro-Magnetic System (EMS) resistance.

It’s more accurate and powerful compared to the basic magnetic resistance. It’s also programmable, which means the resistance can automatically vary throughout programs. EMS is the top-of-the-line high-tech resistance system that’s perfect for short intervals. EMS Resistance also changes the tensions faster.

Sole Fitness LCR light Commercial Recumbent Bike

The angle of the console is not adjustable but it’s large and shows the values to users with different heights. There are two good-quality speakers and a cooling fan built into the console. There is also a headphone and MP3/iPod input on the console.

So, you can get rid of the annoying headphone while sweating and burning calories. You can monitor the resistance levels, Time, Distance, RPM, Pulse, Pace, and Calories. Sole LCR Recumbent bike Summary:

With its great 10.1″ TFT LCE console and ability to provide a smooth lower-body cardio and improve heart conditions, the LCR Sole Recumbent stationary bike is a well-built and sophisticated machine.

Even the R92, the basis of the two sole Recumbents, is more than able to help you meet your fitness goals. For those looking to track workout and compare their monthly progress, the TFT console truly is amazing with its interactive features and easy control buttons.

LCR Sole Exercise bike is light commercial and can be used at offices, police stations and would hold up under consistent use by multiple users. if you can afford to have it in your home it gives you years of cardio workout.

Sole LCR Recumbent exercise indoor bike can be also pedaled reverse, but without resistance. LCR is affordable compared to other recumbent bikes with these features and quality. This Sole Recumbent exercise bike also comes mostly assembled so you don’t need to spend extra for technician assembly.

In terms of user height, if you are below 5 feet 3 inches, you might need to put a pillow behind your back to reach the pedals without stretching. The EMS, large seat and the standard q-factor on this Sole Fitness bike works to simulate a truly natural comfortable seated pedaling pace.

For more advanced and accurate heart rate this bike uses Salutron pulse grips which is a much-welcomed perk due to the reputation handle grip sensors have for being inaccurate. Sole LCR is also Chest strap compatible however, it sometimes doesn’t come on the bike.

2. Sole R92 Recumbent Bike Review

Sole R92 Recumbent Bike
Sole R92 Recumbent Bike

The Sole R92 Recumbent Bike has truly revolutionized the way we experience the budget recumbent exercise at home, thanks to its 9″ White backlit console and sturdy construction.

The Sole Fitness R92 recumbent exercise bike is the mid-range comfortable, and durable machine that’s going to stand up hours of workout daily for multiple users. This Sole stationary bike has a 300 lb user weight capacity and Lifetime frame and 3 Yrs parts warranty.

In addition to this generous Sole Fitness warranty, the brand is popular for standing with its products and providing good customer services. The sole R92 recumbent bike is one step below the LCR model which costs $500 more than this model.

While the R92 Stationary recumbent bike is under $1000 price range, it still offers light commercial quality parts and frame. This model comes with most of the Sole LCR recumbent features except for few things that we will mention them down below this Sole Recumbent bike Review.

This version of the Sole Recumbent bike is perfect for novice and intermediate level users.  For multiple users and those who desire more challenge or exciting workout sessions, check out the LCR. It’s Sole’s Top recumbent exercise bike. With 40-level resistance, 31-lb flywheel and a full-color TFT screen display it’s far ahead of the basic workout capabilities and will provide up to 5 hours of exercise every day.

Sole Recumbent Exercise Bike Seat And Backrest

Forward and Backward adjustable seat allows the users between 5.3 – 6.4  height to find the correct seated position in order to work out. The adjustment is down through an easy to reach lever located on the left side of the seat.

You can adjust the seat while seated and don’t need to get up, unlike the knob adjustment seats that user need to get off the seat and loosen the knob. Being comfortable on a recumbent bike is very important since it’s a machine built and mostly purchased due to offering a relaxed seated position.

And Sole R92 is one of the few recumbent bikes that can fulfill your expectation in terms of comfort. The backrest is soft, cushioned and has the lumbar support. However, it’s fixed and not height or angle adjustable. R92 Sole Recumbent bike is for everyone including seniors and those on recovery.

However, if you have the prostate problem, we suggest you purchase the EXTRA Large Gel and add it to this Sole Recumbent bike. The gratuitous lump between the thighs on most bikes brings pressure on the prostate and it can be painful for men with the prostate issue.

Sole Exercise Bike Drive System – Sole R92 Review

3 Yrs of warranty is a good sign of the quality and how much Sole trust the mechanism of R92 Recumbent. Manufactured in the USA with, Sole recumbent bikes features a durable drive system. Sole Recumbent Bike R92 features a maintenance-free quiet belt drive combined with Eddy Current Magnetic Resistance (ECR).

There are 20 resistance levels easily adjustable through the controls on the console. The power that R92 resistance creat is not available, however, according to consumers resistance between 15-20 is challenging.

The Combination of the belt and ECR technology brings a quiet and smooth ride, especially when it’s combined with a 20-Lb flywheel. While the flywheel is not as heavy as the LCR bike, it’s still one of the heaviest flywheels for recumbent bikes under $1000.

You can feel the 360 smooth pedal stroke, not the jerky motion you might get on some other recumbents. This flywheel allows the bike to support and provide indoor exercise for users up 300-pound. Note: R92 is bidirectional, however, resistance doesn’t apply when you pedal reverse.

Sole Fitness R92 Recumbent Bike Console

With Backlit 9-inch LCD this Sole recumbent exercise bike provides an engaging workout. It’s not the Thin-Film Transistor (TFT) but it’s still clear enough to see the stats in any light condition. The console is angle adjustable to make sure short, tall and anyone in between can have a good view of the stats.

The sole R92 recumbent bike features Bluetooth connection capability. It allows you to connect with the virtual environment to fitness Apps such as Sole and other compatible Apps. The Sole App allows you to save your daily workout on the web so, you can do weekly/monthly comparison to see if your progress and how much calories you burned.

This Sole Recumbent bike features a set of speakers and a gentle cooling fan built-in the console. The quality of the speakers are not great but many consumers prefer them over headphones.

The cooling fan isn’t high speed, it’s slow and blows a very gentle breeze. There are two inputs on the console, one is to plug your MP3/iPod and one if to plug your headphone and listen to your music. On the console, there is a tablet holder.

Your tablet will cover the bike’s LCD and that’s when you can connect the bike to your tablet (through Bluetooth) and monitor the stats on the screen of the tablet with the Sole App. There is an oversized water bottle container below the console where you can keep your phone, keys or any other accessories. On the Sole R92 Recumbent bike console, you can track resistance levels, Time, Distance, RPM, Pulse, Pace, and Calories.

Note: It’s not a touch-screen.

Sole R92 Recumbent bike pre-workouts, hand-grips, pedal

Recumbent 92 comes with 10 pre-workouts and while it was sufficient years ago, in 2021 it’s not enough. The number of Sole R92 pre-programs don’t impress us and hopefully, in the future versions, they will add more to it.

The 10 preset-programs include Manual, Hill, Fatburn, Cardio, Strength, Interval, Custom, Fit-Test, HR1 and HR2. Preset-programs keep you motivated and challenged and also they keep you encouraged. Sole R92 Recumbent allows you to create and customize your own workouts and save them on the machine.

It’s not disclosed whether or not the resistance changes automatically throughout the programs. However, the HR programs are a good indication that R92 changes the resistance automatically in the programs. Sole R92 recumbent bike manual will help you set up your workouts step by step.

R92 features two sets of handlebars, one set is on both sides of the console to help seniors and those on recovery get into seated position smoothly. The other set of handlebars are along the seat to keep you stable during the workout.

They have built-in pulse sensors to allow you to monitor your heart rate. Sole Exercise bike R92 features a patented 2-degree inward design on foot pedals which helps to keep your feet firm throughout an intense exercise. The pedals are also oversized with the non-slip surface and adjustable straps to accommodate different users.

Sole R92 Recumbent exercise bike Summary:

Sole R92, the basis of the two Sole Recumbent Exercise Bikes, is fully able to help you meet your fitness goals and get your heart rate up. Buying Sole R92 recumbent bike, you will own a high-performance recumbent machine. It can provide a unique, low-impact workout experience perfect for seniors and individuals in the recovery process.

The soft cushioned seat and the patented pedal design allow the users to enjoy the intensity of workout in a comfortable seated position without the impact and injury of other types of exercises. For a light commercial recumbent exercise bike, it’s affordable and can be used by pretty much anyone. With the Bluetooth connectivity and 10 workout programs, the R92 helps you meet your workout goals.

We recommend this comfortable, sturdy, and affordable Sole Recumbent exercise bike model for anyone looking to get fit and stay healthy with zero impact. R92 is considered one of the best recumbent bikes for home use in Canada.

However, if you want a more durable bike with a heavier flywheel, we recommend the Sole LCR. Our least favorite features are the lack of variety in preset-programs and the non-adjustable backrest. If you are okay with 10-preset-workout and fixed backrest, the R92 would make a great cardio machine.

The assembly is moderate with easy to follow instructions, the parts for each step are bagged separately so you don’t get confused. Assembly tools are also included but you may want to keep your tools available as well.

You should be able to put R92 recumbent together unless you are really bad with the tools. Both Sole recumbent bikes in the review are compatible with the wireless chest strap (included) to allow you to monitor a more accurate heart rate. After reading this Sole R92 recumbent bike reviews, if you still have any question, let us and we will try to get back to you asap.

Does sole make a good recumbent bike?

There are a lot of different factors to consider when choosing a recumbent bike, and the make of the bike is definitely one of them. So, does Sole make a good recumbent bike?

In short, yes! Sole is a well-respected brand in the world of fitness, and their recumbent exercise bikes are no exception. These stationary bikes are designed with comfort in mind, boasting features like adjustable seats and pedals that accommodate different rider heights.

Plus, they’re loaded with tech features that make your ride more enjoyable, like iPod compatibility and built-in speakers.

So if you’re looking for a high-quality recumbent bike that will provide a comfortable ride, Sole is definitely worth considering.

Is recumbent stationary bike good exercise?

Here’s what you need to know about recumbent stationary bikes and whether or not they’re good exercise:

First, a recumbent bike is a type of exercise bike that allows you to pedaling while seated in a reclined position. This can provide a more comfortable experience for some than traditional upright bikes.

Additionally, recumbent bikes often have backrests and may even come with arm rests, making them ideal for those with back pain or other discomfort issues.

Now as far as whether or not recumbent bikes are good exercise goes, the jury is still out on that one. Some studies show that they can be just as effective as regular upright bikes when it comes to cardio.

Is a recumbent bike good for losing belly fat?

Yes. A recumbent exercise bike is a great way to lose belly fat because it engages your core muscles and works your entire body.

When you ride a recumbent bike, you are in a reclined position, which takes the pressure off your back and allows you to work more of your core muscles.

In addition, the reclined position forces you to use more of your lower body muscles, which helps you burn more calories. And since a recumbent bike is a low-impact exercise, it is gentle on your joints and perfect for people who are new to exercise or who have joint pain.

What is the most comfortable recumbent exercise bike?

Schwinn exercise bike, Nautilus R618, and Sole LCR are among the most comfortable recumbent exercise bikes.

When it comes to finding the most comfortable recumbent bike for your needs, you want to make sure you consider a few key factors.

First, think about how adjustable the bike is. You’ll want to be able to adjust the seat height and angle as well as the handlebar height so that you can find a comfortable position that allows you to pedal with good form.

Next, consider how stable the bike is. You’ll want one that feels stable and solid when you’re riding it, especially if you’re going to be using it at high speeds or for extended periods of time. And finally, think about how

9.6 Total Score

Sole LCR and Sole R92 are top-rated recumbent stationary bikes with a durable frame and heavy flywheels and also affordable prices. However, they lack in high-tech displays and they come with fixed backrests. If these bells and whistles are not your concerns, these cardio machines will provide you years of workouts without the headache of dealing with technicians.
