SNODE Spin Bike Reviews and Comparison

The SNODE is a very small player in the indoor cycling industry, yet, their bikes have managed to join the arena of the best seller budget indoor cycling bikes in 2020. Initially, SNODE came in the market with one indoor cycling bike and currently has 3 models in the US market with mainly happy consumers.

In this SNODE spin bike reviews, I am going to cover more in-depth the pros and cons of these high-rated affordable bikes to help you decided whether they meet your indoor cycling needs or not. I am also going to compare the three SNODE indoor bikes so you can easily see the differences.

But even more importantly, I am going to compare the SNODE indoor cycling bikes with several similarly priced products from other brands. This way, by looking into several criteria I will be able to tell you if there is any SNODE indoor cycle that is no longer a good value and what is the better option for that price.

With no further ado, here is the comparison table for the SNODE belt drive stationary exercise bikes. To make it easy for you to navigate through this SNODE indoor bike review, I have also created a table of content below.

SNODE Belt-Drive Exercise Bike Comparison

This is where I tell you if there are better options for the price. For 2020, I believe all three Snode spin bikes are good products. But there are better value indoor bikes. For instance, the Maxkare, Goplus, Ativafit, and especially the Kouz Live indoor cycle (check them all in our best budget spin bike reviews). They are less expensive, yet, they come with the same (or even better) flywheels, resistance, warranty, and even better handlebars (vertically and horizontally adjustable). Therefore, I believe with the mentioned brands, you can save up to $200 and still buy the same quality bikes (if not better).

Our Picks of SNODE Fitness Spin Bikes:

1. SNODE 8722 Magnetic Indoor Cycling bike

Comes with racing-style padded armrest design and multi-grip cycling handlebars, this Snode cycle provides users with good ergonomics and a stable, sturdy frame.

Unlike many other budget exercise bikes, the Snode 8722 indoor cycling bike with 30-lb flywheel (fixed, bidirectional) allows for a low-impact enjoyable indoor cycling workout.

Allowing the rider to pedal forward and reverse help simulate different muscle groups for overall toning of the physique. But even more importantly, its fixed-gear system keeps the pedaling moving so you would get a better workout. The Snode 8722 has a 30-pound flywheel that helps support smooth pedaling and the sensation of outdoor cycling dynamics.

So, you won’t experience the unpleasant jerky motion that comes with many other low-cost exercise bikes. Additionally, the 8722 indoor cycling bike has a belt system that ensures smooth and quiet workouts, plus extremely low-maintenance indoor cycling experience.

As far as the bike resistance goes, the 8722 Snode bike comes with a strong magnetic system. It is capable of creating a challenging resistance for any novice cyclists. It is much better than felt-pad/friction resistance because and has zero noise and it is virtually maintenance-free.

On top of that, the 8722 Snode cycle is designed with a resistance protection guard. It keeps the sweat and other elements away from the resistance, bearings, and the flywheel. So, they stay dry which ultimately prolongs the life the bike.

This bike is equipped with multi-grip handlebars and arm-pads found on high-end spin bikes. The anti-skidding handlebar coated are designed to comfort your arms and provide stability while exercising. Offering multiple riding postures make your training more comprehensive and fun.

Additionally, this Snode spin bike is equipped with a device holder. You can place your notebook, Ipad, smart-phones, even magazines on the holder to make the longer rides more enjoyable and less boring.

Unfortunately horizontal adjustment on the handlebars are not possible. So, riders above 6’3″ may not be able to set up this spin bike for a comfortable and safe workout.

As for the seat, the 8722 Snode indoor cycle features a padded fully adjustable seat. It is one of the best seats I have seen on budget indoor cycling bikes.

The fully adjustable seat offers a completely customizable experience for ultimate user comfort and compatibility. It is also a breathable seat which means it will help keep you cool during long summer indoor rides.

The 8722 Snode exercise bike monitor is not backlit but due to the size of the screen, it is not too difficult to read stats during the daylight. Unfortunately, it can’t track the RPM and watt, but it does track your time, distance, calories, speed, and pulse (using the built-in sensors on the handlebars). This monitor is not Bluetooth or ANT/+ enabled so you can’t save your workouts.

Snode Fitness 8722 indoor cycle features toe caged pedals, so you will need to replace them if you want to ride with spinning shoes. Thankfully, this indoor spinning bike has the standard 16/9″ pedal thread. Therefore, the SPD replacements are available widely.

A few other features of the Snode 8722 indoor cycle include the transportation wheels to make it easy to move inside the house, mate corrosion resistance finish, and a water bottle holder to keep you hydrated. It also has 4 feet levelers to allow you to adjust the bike, in case your floor is not even.

When looking at other options in this price tag, I suggest you keep in mind the resistance system and the bike warranty. It is always a good sign when a brand is willing to stand with their product, especially when it is inexpensive.

The Snode 831 spin bike is the mid-range model by this brand. Compared to the 8722 listed first in this Snode exercise bike reviews, the 8731 is less durable and lacks in a few bells and whistles.

Here is a short comparison so you can easier see why the 822 Snode spin cycle is superior to 8731. The Snode 8731 exercise bike doesn’t have elbow pads, there is no sweat cover on the frame, the structure including some parts are not as durable, and more importantly, its resistance is not as powerful.

Additionally, Snode 8722 has better quality transport wheels and a device holder that can fit tablets, phones, etc while the 8731 device holder can only hold a phone size device.

So, if you can afford to spend $150 more, I highly recommend you buying the Snode indoor stationary bike 8722. But if your budget is below $350 and you like this brand, rest assure this Snode indoor cycling belt drive stationary exercise bike will give you a couple years of light spin workouts.

Seen in many budget indoor bike reviews, the 8731 Snode indoor bike comes with a 30-pound flywheel that significantly enhances the experience of a near realistic bike ride whilst ensuring safety.

As expected in this price class, this bike features magnetic resistance which means there is no noise or maintenance. Featuring a knob, it allows micro turn adjustment providing smooth and safe transitions to higher intensity levels.

By simply pressing down on the same knob, the emergency braking system activates quickly and safely. One of the factors behind the Snode 8731’s success in the arena of budget spin bikes is its high-quality belt system.

It is a ribbed belt that makes it extremely low-maintenance and durable. It also makes the operation ultra-quiet so you won’t have to worry about disturbing families while you sport during the day.

Note: if you think you will ride the bike early morning or late evening when others are relaxing/resting, this bike’s magnetic resistance comes very handy because it is quieter than friction resistance bikes.

As for the monitor, it is very basic. There is no backlit but it does display your time, speed, distance, calories burned, and scan which enables you to see some results to keep you motivated and on pace.

Featuring a fully adjustable seat with high-density padding offers a completely customizable experience for user comfort and compatibility. But since the handlebars are only vertically adjustable, the user inseam capacity is limited to under 6’3″.

The snode8731 indoor bike has aluminum alloy cape pedals and adjustable straps that will prevent feet slip and give more support while pedaling. But there are no SPD elements which is understandable for its price point.

Note: As I mentioned earlier in this Snode stationary bike reviews, the S2 Indoor cycling bike is for short people as well as average heights but not for users taller than 6’3″ and heavier than 280-lb. In fact, if you are serious about indoor cycling and you weigh above 200 lbs, I suggest you go with a more durable spin bike.

3. SNODE 8729 Friction Indoor Cycling Bike

as of May 30, 2023 4:48 pm

The Snode 8729 spin bike is the most affordable model by this brand. The only thing that makes this bike the cheapest option from this brand is its friction resistance system, otherwise, it has better flywheel (40lb vs 30lb) and better handlebars with drop grips. If the extra noise and maintenance of friction resistance is not a big deal to you, the Snode 8729 stationary bike is a good option.

But as always, I recommend all the readers to consider buying a magnetic indoor stationary bike. They are smoother, quieter and overall better for home use. Thankfully, for this price ($300) you can buy the same quality bike with magnetic resistance. If you don’t care about the resistance (which you should), here is our in-depth analysis of this cycle.

Snode 8729 comes with a 40-pound flywheel that significantly enhances the experience of a realistic bike ride while it ensures joint safety. Featuring a knob for resistance, allows micro turn adjustment providing smooth and safe transitions to higher intensity levels.

By simply pressing down on the same knob, the emergency braking system activates quickly and safely. One of the factors behind the Snode’s 8729 success in the arena of budget spin bikes is its high-quality belt system.

This exercise bike comes with a fully adjustable seat and 2-way adjustable handlebars. The lack of vertical adjustment prevents some users to find the perfect cycling position with this Snode spin bike. So, make sure you are within the recommended inseam range.

While the seat of this indoor cycle has good dimensions, some consumers say it’s a bit hard and you might need to buy a gel seat cover for more comfort. The frame is dual coated for extra durability and weighs 84-lb.

It has two integrated transport wheels in front of the frame to make it easy to store after each use. With a total portability thanks to transportation wheels for easy set-up and hide-away, your home will turn into a gym and back in no time.

There are 4-foot levelers on the indoor cycling bike Model 8729 to keep the bike more stable on uneven floors during an intense workout. This spin bike comes with toe clip pedals and lacks in the spd pedals.

SPD pedals are mainly used by elite cyclists with specific cycling shoes. You can always switch the pedals to buy a set of Shimano spd pedals that cost less than $30. Unlike many budget spin bikes, this one has a monitor that allows you to track your workout progress such as speed, time, distance and calories.

However, if you are interested in joining online racing apps such as Zwift and a few others, we suggest you get a pair of Wahoo spin bike speed and cadence sensors.

Know Before Buying SNODE Spin Bikes:

Snode Fitness indoor cycling bikes comparison

SNODE Advantages:

Magnetic Resistance:
Two of Snode indoor cycle exercise bikes are equipped with the magnetic resistance systems. Unlike felt-pad/friction resistance found on most L Now indoor cycling bikes, the magnetic system doesn’t wear out and it is completely silent. Therefore, with the two magnetic spin bikes from Snode, you can work out without disturbing the rest of your family. And, you don’t need to look, find, and replace resistance pads every couple of years.

Warranty:
Snode home use exercise bikes are ideal for those families who have one or a maximum of two users on a daily basis. These are some of the sturdiest budget bikes around and feature good warranties that tend to be much more generous than a typical budget spin bikes. As you read before in this Snode indoor cycling bike review, the company offers a 1-year part and frame warranties for these bikes which is not bad at all compared to other spin bikes in this price class. If you need part under warranty, you can contact the email provided in the manuals. They are very responsive and supportive.

Sturdiness and affordability:
Being some of the most affordable spin bikes available, the Snode indoor cycling exercise bike trainers feature very sturdy frames. Additionally, these Snode belt-driven spin bikes have good ergonomics and stability. Equipped with wide stabilizer feet and adjustable base levelers, all Snode Sports and Fitness exercise bikes provide users with incredible sturdiness during all spinning workouts including out of the saddle rides.

Heavy Flywheels:
Featuring 30 to 40 pounds flywheel, these Snode bikes keep things smooth and stable. Additionally, the Snode Sport indoor cycling bikes come with low-maintenance bearings. With Snode indoor cycling bikes, you will enjoy the smooth, natural motion of the indoor cycling that you would get with a few more expensive Sunny Health and Fitness spin bikes.

Saddle Comfort:
The Snode Indoor Cycling Bike trainers come with a unisex considerably comfortable saddle for women and men compared to many other spin bikes in this price tag. They are also extra padded cushion and have dual suspension that will help you enjoy your rides for miles and miles, especially if you ride daily. Additionally, the Snode exercise cycles fit universal seat adapters. So, the compatible exercise bike seat replacements are widely available. On top of that, to fit different riders the bike saddle moves up/down and forward/backward. Making adjustments is quick and easy with a knob pin.

Belt Driven System:
Snode Indoor Cycling Bikes feature belt transmission. Although, the type of belts is not disclosed, comes consumers they come with multi-ribbed belts. If that’s the case, they will have the power transmission capabilities of a V belt with the flexibility of a flat belt. These belts run cooler and last longer than a standard V belt found on most indoor cycling bikes. Another good thing about the belt system is that it doesn’t need lubing and frequent maintenance like chain-driven bikes.

Assembly:
Exercise bike assembly costs around $70 but I don’t believe you would need to buy assembly for the Snode spin bikes for home use. Because Snode indoor bike assembly is fairly easy. Following the Snode Fitness indoor cycling bike manual, it shouldn’t take one person more than 30-40 minutes to put any of these cycles together. Only the seat, handlebars, pedals, and feet need assembly. You will also receive the instruction and the assembly tools when buying Pyhigh spin bikes for the home gym.

Shipping:
These indoor cycling bikes also include free shipping when purchased from Amazon. You can buy a separate warranty (I don’t think it is needed) and faster delivery for these Snode indoor cycling bikes for home use. Note that you might have to pay the shipping fee if you decide to purchase these Snode indoor cycling bikes from other retailers.

Tablet Holders:
Often, even when buying the best home indoor bikes, you might have to purchase a tablet and phone holder separately. But that is not the case with these Snode spinning bikes because they all come with nice and large media shelves. You can place your phone or tablet to watch your favorite TV shows or a hyped spinning video.

SNODE Disadvantages:

Low-Weight Support:
It is not necessarily an issue since most users weigh less than 280-lb but its something that they could add by improving the quality of the structural frame and parts. There are some spin bikes under $500 that can support more than 280-pound user weight. For instance, this Goplus indoor bike costs below $350 and has a weight capacity of 300 lbs.

Monitor:
Budget indoor cycling bikes are usually light on console features, and that’s the case with these SNODE spin bikes. The main problems with these monitors are the lack of ability to track your RPM (revolution per minute) and the lack of wireless connectives to allow you to save your workouts. Unfortunately, the SNODE indoor cycling bikes also don’t have back-light. So, you need to keep the room’s light on to see the stats in low-light conditions.

Q-Factors:
The lateral distance between the pedals is referred to as q-factor. Spin bikes with narrower q-factor (less distance between pedals) tend to keep the feet in a natural position aligned with knees and hips. Unfortunately, this indoor cycling fitness equipment brand hasn’t disclosed the q-factor sizes for all three Snode indoor cycling exercise bikes. Usually, brands don’t disclose this information because their bikes feature wide q-factors. Hopefully, it is not the case with Snode Indoor Cycles.

Pedals:
There are mainly two types of spin bike pedals, the dual-sided SPD compatible and toe cage pedals. The SPD pedals allow you to wear spinning shoes and clip in to exercise more comfortably and safely without the fear of slipping. Unfortunately, all three Snode spin bikes are equipped with toe cage pedals. So you can only use them with the regular gym shoes, not with clipless spinning shoes. However, all these Snode indoor cycles feature the standard 9/16″ pedal thread size so the SPD replacement pedals are widely available.

Handlebar Adjustments:
To comfortably accommodate all users, horizontal and vertical seat and handlebar adjustment are very important for indoor cycling bikes. Thankfully the Snode exercise bikes feature 4-way adjustable seats but sadly their handlebars are only vertically adjustable. That, plus the compact frame, are the reasons these spin bikes can not fit riders taller than 6’3″ tall. Note that if you are shorter than the mentioned heights, the Snode exercise cycling bikes will fit you with no problem.

Final Word On SNODE Exercise Bikes:

Snode Sports and Fitness isn’t a popular fitness equipment brand like Keiser, Schwinn, Sunny, and many others on the market. They are a very new name in the fitness world with only three indoor bikes in the US market. Like most sellers on Amazon, Sonde buys its products from Chinese suppliers.

This means whenever the Chinese supplier decides to stop manufacturing these bikes, the sellers in the US won’t be able to provide you with the parts. Therefore, I always recommend the readers to go with more established and popular fitness brands and buy better-quality spin bikes such as ASUNA Sprinter 6100, if they can afford it.

With that being said, if your budget is below $500, you don’t really have many better options than Snode cycles. These affordable spin bikes have been rated way higher than many other low-cost spin bike brands that have been selling exercise bikes for the last couple of years. Thanks to sturdy components and structure used on each Snode indoor cycling bikes.

Quality combined with low-cost has helped them gather quite the following that purchase their bikes and recommend them to others. These indoor cycles have very little maintenance, heavy flywheels, and quiet drivetrain.

Thankfully, you shouldn’t have to deal with maintenance issues every day as each of Snode indoor cycles are created out of relatively good quality materials that will last for years, even with multiple daily users.

The warranties are also good, offering much more generous options than many other brands. If you’re looking for an indoor cycling bike (within an affordable price range) that won’t let you down, then these spin bikes by Snode might just be what you’ve been waiting for.

As expected for this price class, each Snode belt drive stationary bike comes with certain cons. They are not deal breakers for most riders, especially for the lightweight novice users who don’t expect RPM, Watt tracking, SPD pedals and other bells, and whistles. If you haven’t already, I suggest you scroll up and read each Snode spin bike review and comparison to make sure you are well-aware of options from other brands within the same price class.

9.4 Total Score

All three models of SNODE indoor cycling bikes are designed with relatively durable construction and can support users from 270 to 300 pounds. Two of these spin bikes are equipped with magnetic resistance while one comes with a friction resistance system, padded comfortable saddle, and LCD monitors that can track the basic workout metrics to keep you aware of your performance. Snode spin bikes offer comfort factors and the needed adjustment to accommodate most average users. All in all, they are good exercise bikes for intense cardio workouts, intervals, leg muscle strength development, and weight loss.
