Best Pedal Adapters for Peloton Bikes to Use Clipless Shoes
It’s common for those new to Peloton bike and indoor spinning to feel apprehensive about clipping into the pedals and no doubt it’s going to take some time to get past that awkward stage of learning. For almost everyone, there is a time when, “clipping in” comes together and it finally just clicks, (pun intended).
For those indoor cyclists who prefer to ease their way into the experience and want to start spinning in athletic shoes or for those who are unable to use Peloton clipless pedals due to a physical limitation, there are other options.
Pedal adapters are reminiscent of the earlier days of bicycle racing or indoor track riding when a cyclist would place their foot inside a metal toe cage.
The cyclist would then tighten the leather straps to prevent the foot from pulling out and off the pedal as the rider pushes and pulls the pedal back during the upstroke to improve the pedal strokes.
Today we will be reviewing pedal adapters for the Peloton Bike and Bike+. All the reviewed pedal adapters are to be installed on the back of the original Peloton pedal, which allows both sides of the pedal to be used regardless of whether you have Peloton cycling shoes or athletic shoes.
Pedal adapters allow for a cost-effective solution: dual-function pedals that are ideal for households that share the Peloton Bike or Bike+ or for those who want to ease their way into spinning clipped into the pedals.
Please keep in mind these accessories are only suitable for the Peloton Bike and Bike+ branded pedals and are not suitable for other brands.
Pedal Adapters for Peloton Bike & Bike+ By Thinvik
The Thinvik Team has designed this flat converter specifically for the peloton Look Delta pedals.
The package contains all necessary hardware and tools required for installation and for those who are not mechanically inclined, there is a manual included as well.
Basically at the bottom of the adapters, there are Look Delta clips that attach to the pedals. So, you don’t need to install anything really. You just need to clip the Peloton pedal adapters into the pedals.
Once adapters are attached to the pedal, you should adjust the pedal tension as tight as possible. This will make sure these Peloton pedal adapters stay in place during Peloton cycling classes.
The heavy-duty plastic pedals are available in one adjustable size. You can adjust the length from 5.5″ to 5.9″. The Width is and shoe fit is also adjustable which accommodates small and large shoe sizes.
So, if you have multiple members of the household who want to ride your Peloton bike with sneakers, this product is suitable unless you both wear huge oversized shoes.
The surface of the pedal is a textured, non-slip platform with a matte finish providing stable support for the foot and the adjustable toe straps allow for securing varying foot shapes.
With a price of $34 the Thinvik pedal adapters are less expensive than others on our list. It also accommodates multiple riders with different-sized shoes.
Peloton Bike & Peloton Bike+ Pedal Adapters by CyclingDeal
CyclingDeal has created a pedal adapter made from durable thermoplastic. The platform has been grooved to create friction, preventing the foot from sliding around and for further securing the foot, there are easy-to-use nylon toe-straps.
The cage size is 5.5 x 3.34 inches, which compared to other brands seems to fit right in the middle regarding sizing.
These pedal adapters are made in Taiwan, which is the number one country for manufacturing bicycles and bicycle parts and CyclingDeal offers a 2-year warranty on their product, though it’s unlikely that anything would go wrong with this type of product.
CyclingDeal has provided an easy-to-follow instructional video explaining installation which I found easier to follow than some paper instruction booklets from other providers of pedal adapters.
The price of $55 seems to be more expensive than other pedal adapters available but the more accurate sizing accommodates most sized shoes.
Pedal Adapter with Plastic Toe Cage and Straps for Peloton Bike And Peloton Bike + by Wassers
Wassers has created its version of the Peloton pedal adapter and they are adjustable! These pedal adapters look like others but upon further investigation, we found that the toe cage is adjustable up to 20mm.
The additional room for forward placement of the foot allows for the platform to better support the foot which is optimal for any rider who experiences burning hot spots or cramping of the foot.
Additionally, these Peloton pedal adapters offer a larger overall size than most others on the market, measuring at 7.48 x 6.38 x 3.7 inches. And Wassers offers a 1-year warranty and free product replacement. They are priced at $39.99.
Due to the larger size of these adapters, plus the adjustability for the forefoot, and the lower price, the Wassers are our favorite pedal adapters.
Boerte Toe Cages for Peloton Bike & Peloton Bike+ Pedals Compatible Toe Cage Adapters
The Boerte brand offers a diamond-patterned tread to help hold the foot in place, a plus for riders who do not want to tighten down the straps. A platform with more aggressive tread will help to prevent the user’s foot from sliding out of the toe cage.
The size of the pedal adapters are 7.36 x 6.34 x 3.78 inches making them slightly smaller than the ones by Wassers.
However, like the adapters by Wassers, these also come with the adjustability of the toe cage. They are manufactured in Hong Kong and Boerte provides easy-to-follow video instructions for installation.
At $49.99 these adjustable pedal adapters are priced higher than other brands though the value is in the diamond-patterned tread and the durable toe cage.
ATP Sports Pedal Converters for Peloton Bike & Peloton Bike+
The ATP Sports pedal converters are designed for riders who do not want to use cycling shoes or toe cages.
Because these are specifically designed for the Look Delta pedals found on Peloton products, these converters fit snugly and easily into the large hole in the Peloton pedals
The platform is textured with a unique dotted pattern and these converters require no tools to install.
When installed the platform sits just below the inner edge making it uncomfortable when riding on a softer-soled shoe. While users could ride with a firm sole, the uneven platform left us feeling unstable while pedaling.

The Peloton pedal converters by Trublifit are designed for riders who do not want to use cycling shoes or toe cages.
These Pedal converters are great solutions for riders unable to clip in or who have a physical limitation that doesn’t allow them to ride with the foot in a fixed spot.

The platform lays flat and flush, making it comfortable and stable. They easily snap into place and require no tools for installation.
