L Now Pro C580 Indoor Cycling Bike Review

Overview:
L Now Pro C580 indoor cycling bike

Home > L Now > Pro C580 Indoor Cycling Bike

The Pro C580 indoor cycling bike is one of the top-selling bikes by L-Now (Pooboo), designed with commercial quality and affordable for residential use. With a stylish pro design and the combination of steel, red, and black glossy finish, the L Now C580 draws the attention of all fitness levels.

This L Now Pro C580 indoor cycling bike is built with sturdy construction, 4’9″ to 6’2″ user height capacity, heavy-duty 3-piece crank arms, and has a weight capacity of 300 pounds.

This L Now Pro spin bike also features the belt-driven mechanism that provides a quite smooth and quiet riding experience. The console is slightly minimalistic but does feature speed, calories, distance, heart rate, and time reading capabilities.

Offered at $550, the Pooboo Pro C-580 indoor cycling bike is one of the cheapest bikes offered by L-Now and is built with the same durability and quality L-Now commercial spin bikes are known for.

At this price point, I can not think of any commercial quality spin bike on the market except for this C580 L Now Pro indoor cycling bike. So, if you are wondering about the value, rest assure the Pro C-580 L Now belt drive indoor cycle worth its price tag.

Although the L Now C580 is not built with silent magnetic technology, the bike is built with a heavy-duty 40-pound flywheel and belt drivetrain which means smooth, high inertia and consistent pedal strokes.

It is easy to get an effective workout with this Pooboo C580 indoor cycling bike, equipped with a comfortable seat and Ergonomically shaped handlebars, intended to synchronize upper-and-lower-body movement with less perceived exertion.

On top of everything else I listed above, the L NOW Pro indoor cycling bike smooth belt driven with 40lb flywheel and commercial standard is equipped with durable transport wheels and 4-adjustable base levelers.

And even more importantly, this L Now Pro indoor cycling bike C580 features an excellent media shelf (tablet holder) that support most table and phone sizes. These features are usually available on more expensive commercial-grade exercise bikes.

Note: While the construction and ergonomics are excellent on this trainer, you don’t get a lot in terms of extras (SPD pedals, vertically adjustable handlebars, RPM computer, etc.) And at this price point, some of the competing brands give you at least a few of these things.

The money here really went into commercial construction quality and design. So at the end of the day, it really depends on what is most important to you.

L-Now C580 Comparison!

2020 Update: The L-Now Pro C580 indoor cycle is a good product but because it lacks in 4-way adjustable handlebars, SPD pedals, RPM tracking, and more importantly, it’s not magnetic (it’s fiction), I would invest my money on the HMC indoor bike. Not only HMC is less expensive (almost half price), but it also comes with all the features lacking on L Now C580 (fully adjustable handlebars, magnetic resistance, and RPM monitor). Now that you know where my money goes, it is up to you to decide which one of these bikes to buy.

The L NOW Pro indoor cycling stationary smooth belt-driven bike with 40lb flywheel and the commercial standard is one of the recent models by L-Now/Pooboo. Currently, there are at least 7 more L Now stationary exercise bikes on the market. If you are interested to find out about the rest of them, make sure to check out the link above.

To make it easy for you to navigate through this ultimate L Now Pro C580 indoor cycling bike review, I have created the table of content below.

Technical Information:

L Now Pro C580 Specs:

  • Height: 41″
  • Width: 20″
  • Length: 49″
  • Transport Wheels: Yes
  • Foot Levelers: Yes
  • Bike Weight: 103 Pounds
  • Max User Weight: 280 Pounds
  • User Height: 4’9″ to 6’2″
  • Shipping Weight: 110 Pounds

Featuring compact dimensions and large transport wheels, the L Now Pro C580 is easy to store and move from one place to another place in the house.

The 100 pounds steel frame capable of supporting up to 280 pounds user weight indicate the sturdiness of C-580 L-Now bike. Unlike cheaply made bikes, this L Now the indoor cycle has wide and heavy frame stabilizers to prevent rocking during workouts.

Additionally, the L Now C580 stationary exercise bike has 4 adjustable feet levelers. They will help protect the floor and keep the bike stable on uneven gym floors.

But that is just the beginning of what this commercial standard L Now spin bike has to offer. The L Now indoor cycling bike trainer belt drive C580 is double coated to resist against corrosion. It also has a sweat resistance flywheel guard and durable belt box to minimize the maintenance.

On top of that, the C580 features commercial standard which means a more durable construction compared to residential use bikes. Therefore, if you are looking for a budget spin bike that can offer more than 1-hour daily use, the L-Now indoor cycling bike C580 is a good choice.

L-Now Pro C-580 Monitor:

L-Now C580 monitor
  • C580 monitor displays the time, cal, HR, speed, and distance (no RPM or watt).
  • The monitor is not compatible with non-coded wireless HR straps.
  • The monitor is non-backlit so it is hard to see the stats in low-light condition.
  • L now C580 monitor is wired and it is not Bluetooth or ANT/+ enabled).
  • The computer runs on batteries (included).

The L Now exercise bike C580 console is not compatible with wireless heart rate chest straps, but it has pulse sensors allowing you to stay within target heart rate training zones as you workout.

In its price class, the C580 fitness monitor is considered very basic due to the lack of RPM tracking and dark LCD monitor. The non-backlit monitor makes it difficult to see your spinning workout stats in the low-light condition. It is also not wireless which means the sensor on the flywheel sends data to the monitor via a cable. Therefore, if you not careful during the ride or when adjusting the handlebars, the wire can be crimped and cause maintenance.

The L now Pro indoor cycling bike C580 does not track the watts. It also doesn’t have internal memory, Bluetooth or ANT/+ connectivity. Therefore, you can’t save daily workouts on the monitor or on spinning Apps.

However, there is an easy solution that enables you to save workout progress on the apps and also compete with other cyclists online. This simple solution includes a Wahoo RPM sensor. It cost $30 and is very popular among indoor cyclists. Search our website for Wahoo sensor and spin bike computer to learn more about this optional accessory.

Pedals and Q-factor:

C580 pedals q-factor
  • Pooboo Pro C580 exercise bike has single side toe cage pedals.
  • Toe pedal straps are adjustable to secure the feet during the ride.
  • The size of Q-factor for this L-Now bike is not disclosed.
  • This indoor cycling bike is built with standard 9/16″ pedal thread.

L Now Pro C-580 indoor cycling bike features thick and solid crank arms and toe cage pedals. Built and designed with commercial standard, the L Now Pro C580 exercise bike can support all spinning workouts including out of the saddle rides. Rest assured, the pedals and crank arms won’t snap off during intense out of the saddle spin workouts.

Unfortunately, the pedals are not SPD compatible which means if you want to use cycling shoes, you need to replace the pedals. but thankfully, this Live in Now the indoor bike has standard 9/16″ pedal thread size. So, you can replace its pedals with pretty much any clipless spin bike pedals (search this website for the best spin bike spd pedals).

The Q-factor, one of the most important features when buying indoor cycling bikes is not disclosed. But we believe it is anywhere from 7.5″ inches to 8 inches which is acceptable.

In case you are new to indoor cycling, the q factor is the horizontal distance between the two pedals. Wide q factors tend to keep riders’ feet too far apart which can cause injuries if you have narrow hips.

Pooboo C-580 Flywheel:

L-Now C-580 spin bike flywheel
  • L Now Pro C580 flywheel weighs 40 pounds to provide a smooth and quiet indoor exercise makes your riding more convenient and effective.
  • The flywheel has a plastic sweat protection guard.
  • It has the fixed-wheel bidirectional flywheel system.

The Pooboo indoor cycling bike C580 flywheel is well built weighing 40 pounds which is capable of providing smooth indoor cycling workouts with a large range of challenge to meet the needs of most riders.

It is also painted red and black which makes it easy to clean and difficult to scratch. The polished steel around the perimeter of the flywheel and black/red coating frame gives the bike a great look.

Just like any other budget indoor cycling exercise bike, the C580 L Now indoor cycling exercise bike is fixed-wheel. Meaning the flywheel moves and stops with the pedals which come with a pro and a con. While it allows you to pedal reverse and simulate different leg muscles, it doesn’t allow you to take a short break or jump off the bike until the flywheel completely stops.

Note: Freewheel bikes are more expensive. They work similar to bicycles. Meaning even after you stop pedaling, the flywheel still turns. So, you can jump off the bike in case of emergency or take a few second brakes whenever you want, without having to wait for the flywheel to stop.

C580 Bike Resistance Technology:

LNow C580 indoor cycle resistance system
  • L Now C580 exercise bike has friction resistance system.
  • The felt pad is made of heat resistant material.
  • The L Now stationary exercise bike comes with manually knob adjustment system (not electronically).
  • Resistance system along with part of the flywheel has a sweat protection cover.
  • L Now C580 resistance knob also works as an emergency brake.

This L Now Pro indoor cycling bike has unlimited resistance system. While it is not as quiet as a magnetic resistance bike, it provides infinite resistance.

Unlike magnetic bikes, it doesn’t have certain levels of resistance. Each knob turn provides a challenging workout to suit the needs of both indoor cyclists and mimics real road riding. So, no matter your fitness level, you can always make the workout more intense with an extra turn of the knob.

When buying the C580 L Now indoor cycling bike, you don’t need to worry about the quality of the breaking pads. They are made of heat-tolerant materials capable of providing a relatively quiet and smooth ride.

There is also a small protection guard above the resistance to make sure the breaking system stays dry and doesn’t cause maintenance. Overall, it is consistent, durable and quieter than some other cheap friction resistance bikes. But it is not as quiet as the magnetic resistance system, which is why I suggest you consider a magnetic spin bike if you want to ride with less noise. (Search for the best magnetic spin bikes in this website).

Drive System:

L-Now Pro C580 with belt drive system
  • L Now Fitness C580 cycle is belt driven.
  • It is quiet and requires little maintenance.
  • The gear ratio is not disclosed but estimated 2:1.
  • It has an automotive-grade patented high-quality belt and a durable belt box.

If you have been reading this L Now C-580 review, you already know this spin bike is belt driven. But let’s see why it is better than chain drive bikes.

Belt system doesn’t have hundreds of tiny rings and pieces like a chine do. Therefore, it has less maintenance and lasts longer. But that is not the only benefits of belt drive spin bikes.

Featuring belt makes the bike quieter and eliminates the need for oiling. And if the belt is high quality like the one on this L Now cycling bike, it doesn’t stretch. So, you don’t need to deal with adjustment tools often.

Looking at the size of the belt-ring and 40-pound flywheel, I believe this L Now Pro indoor cycling exercise bike has a very little gear ratio which means the flywheel turns slowly and with more intensity, especially the very first seconds of exercise.

If you prefer a higher gear ratio and faster flywheel which is more similar to road bikes, I suggest the Keiser and Life Fitness IC4, 5, 6, 7, 8 bikes. They are several times more expensive than L-Now C580 but provide up to 12:1 gear ratio. Meaning for each complete pedal stride, the flywheel turns 12 times.

Handlebars and Seat:

Pooboo C580 seat and handlebars
  • Offers multi-grip curved handlebars.
  • Fully adjustable seat making it possible for people of most body sizes to comfortably exercise.
  • Stainless steel handlebar and seat posts.
  • Handlebars are only 2-way (up/down) adjustable.
  • The C-580 L Now belt drive bike with 40lb flywheel includes built-in tablet holder on the handlebars.

Designed for comfort, the L NOW indoor cycling bike trainer belt drive features an adjustable seat that moves fore and aft as well as up and down so that many trainees can acquire a safe custom fit.

Unlike a few other L-Now spin bikes, the C580 handlebars are only vertically adjustable which is the biggest con I can find for the Pooboo C580 stationary belt drive bike with 40lb flywheel. But it is NOT a deal-breaker because this bike does not have a V-shape (offset) frame.

If it did have a V-shape frame like Keiser bikes, the lack of horizontal adjustment wouldn’t have allowed the riders above 6 feet to exercise comfortably. But since the C580 has a parallel frame, it can accommodate riders up to 6’2″ tall despite its lack of customizable handlebars.

To make up for the lack of adjustment, there is also easy to reach tablet holders built-into the handlebars to allow you to stay entertained during the exercise.

Additionally, this indoor cycle features the cam and lever locking system for the horizontal adjustment which is relatively easier to adjust compared to the knob adjustment system. They also tighten nicely, so you don’t need to worry about the bike jostling during intense indoor cycling workout.

The seat is soft padded and comfortable to support the long rides. So, when you buy L NOW C580 indoor cycling bike black/white, you don’t necessarily need a seat cover or seat replacement. However, if you want to change the seat, the replacements are widely available on the market because this bike uses the standard seat clamp size.

Live in Now C580 Price and Warranty:

  • L Now indoor cycling bike C580 price is around $550.
  • The C580 indoor cycle includes residential warranty:
  • 1-Year on the frame and all parts.
  • This bike doesn’t come with a labor warranty.
  • To order parts under warranty you can only contact the seller through Amazon messages.

Depending on where you buy this L Now spin bike the price is different. On Amazon U.S, you can purchase the C580 indoor cycle for under $600. However, on Amazon Canada, the price for some of these L-Now bikes are ridiculously high and I don’t recommend them because there are better options at those price points

On Amazon U.S. you may also find the L Now belt drive C580 spinning bike discounted sometimes, but that doesn’t happen often since there is a high demand for L-Now spin bikes.

It comes with one year warranty for the entire bike which is better than what Some other brands offer (90-days) but not as good as what Schwinn Fitness, Sole Fitness or BodyCraft offer (you can search for Schwinn, BodyCraft and Sole spin bikes on this website).

Shipping and Assembly:

  • The L-Now C580 manual and assembly tools are included.
  • L Now C580 assembly is fairly easy with only a few parts to install.
  • This bike includes free shipping in the U.S.
  • C580 ships in one box that weighs around 110 pounds.
  • Expert assembly is not included.

The C580 comes with free shipping and in one big heavy box. Therefore, we suggest you ask the carrier to help bring the bike inside or unbox the bike outside and bring inside in tow pieces.

Aside from the bike, there are the L Now indoor cycling bike assembly tools and manual in the box. So, you wouldn’t need to buy, borrow or use other tools for assembly of C-580 bike.

The C580 indoor bike comes about 80% assembled, which helps you save $70 on assembly cost. Remaining assembly is relatively straight-forward but still might take you about an hour.

Assembly manual is very easy to follow as long as you pay attention to detail and have little mechanical common sense. It is recommended to do the assembly with 2 people.

The parts that you need to assembly are leg stabilizers, pedals, seat, handlebars and computer. The flywheel, drive mechanism and crank arms come pre-assembled.

L Now Pro C580 Pros:

Commercial quality:
This L Now C580 indoor bike guarantees a smooth, natural feel and workout experience easy on the joints, like all other L-Now indoor cycling bikes. While this spin bike lacks the bells and whistles and customizable options of other spin bikes at the same or lower price point, it does come with a solid great looking construction and heavy flywheel.

Ergonomic design:
Although lacking in adjustable or customizable features, this L Now Pro indoor cycle is built with the user in mind with a comfortable seat, curved handlebars, and tablet holder angled correctly within an arm’s reach.

Heart Rate
Pro C580 red indoor cycling bike with 40lb flywheel tracks rider’s heart rate “HR” via built-in pulse sensors on the handlebars. Knowing your HR is an important factor, especially if your doctor advises you to stay within a certain HR range. Also looking at the heart rate, you can understand which exercise zone you are. For, example 100-120 beat per minute indicates you are in health improvement zone while 120-150 beat per minute indicates you are in the fitness zone (fat burning zone).

  • With 35 pounds heavy flywheel the L Now C580 provides a smooth ride and effectively mimics the feel of a road bike.
  • Featuring an automotive-grade belt driven system that helps create a quiet and low-maintenance workout.
  • Simple pro design and glossy finish that makes any room look nice and elegant.
  • Durable transport wheels for easy indoor portability.
  • 4 Adjustable base levelers for a steady and stable ride on all types of floors.
  • Flywheel sweat protection guard to lower the maintenance.
  • L Now spin bike C580 features an easy assembly process.
  • 4-Way adjustable seat combined with multi-grip handlebars provides a comfortable ride for most riders.
  • Equipped with a heavy-duty steel frame system with a 300 pounds weight capacity.
  • The bike also comes with a multimedia stand where you can put your iPad or tablet.

L Now Pro C580 Cons:

Pedals
For this price tag, I was expecting the Pro C580 indoor cycling bike by L-Now and Pooboo to be equipped with dual sided SPD compatible pedals. But unfortunately, the pedals are toe caged only. So, if you want to use clipless spinning shoes, you will need to replace the pedals. A pair of dual-sided Shimano compatible pedals cost around $40. Thankfully the Pro C580 spin bike comes with standard 9/16″ pedals thread size. So, the SPD replacement pedals are available widely.

Handlebars:
The major design con of Pro C580 indoor cycling bike by L-Now is its lack of adjustable handlebars. While the handlebars can be adjusted horizontally, they are not vertically adjustable. Therefore, some riders may not find the perfect bike fit on this Pro C580 L Now spin bike. Some spin bikes such as this L-Now LD-528 bike at similar price tag come with superior micro-adjustability.

Bike monitor:
The console is fairly basic and comes without the backlight, Watt, RPM, ANT/+ or Bluetooth connectivity. Although, this type of monitor is not too unusual for high-quality commercial spin bikes. So, this bike’s low-tech monitor is not considered a deal-breaker.

Frictions resistance
L Now Pro indoor bike creates a bit of noise and requires more maintenance than magnetic resistance spin bikes. Because the brake pad comes in direct contact with the flywheel and wears out after a while. So, if you live in a small apartment or want to ride as noiseless as possible, I suggest a magnetic spin bike (search our website for the best magnetic spin bikes). Note: Sometimes serious outdoors biker and those who take their indoor exercise routine seriously prefer friction resistance because it offers unlimited resistance which is perfect for high-intensity workouts.

  • No Bluetooth or ANT/+ connectivity.
  • Not a water bottle holder.
  • With a 2-way adjustable handlebar, this indoor cycling bike may not be a good fit for everyone.

Final word on the L-Now C-580 indoor cycling bike

The L Now Pro C580 spin bike is an impressive bike when it comes to durability and feel, but if the commercial quality is not a factor for you, for this price you could get a similar spin bike like Schwinn IC3 with a more advanced console and additional features. (look up our website for the Schwinn IC3)

This is the indoor cycling bike for you if you are looking for a spin bike you know will last. But if you are more interested in, quiet drive (magnetic resistance), entertainment options (touch-screen, Bluetooth enabled, built-in programs, etc) and a solid spin bike, consider the ProForm Studio Pro indoor cycle for around similar price points. (Look up our website for the ProForm Studio pro)

The L Now C580 spin bike is an indoor cycle trainer featuring a friction resistance system, belt drive, and sturdy overall construction. This bike highly rated for its smooth operation (thanks to the belt driven system and heavy flywheel) impressive weight capacity of 300 lbs.

Pooboo Pro C580 spin bike can support all types of spinning workouts as well as out of the saddle interval training, high-intensity cardio and steady cardio weight loss workouts. Although it’s priced as a residential use indoor cycle, it is a commercial grade exercise bike that can easily handle 2-hour of daily use.

Bottom line, the L NOW Pro indoor cycling bike is a stationary smooth belt driven with 40lb flywheel and commercial standard priced less than $600 which has been rated higher than 95% of spin bikes on the market.

    • Hello
I have a little over 500 miles logged on the bike. I just started hearing a ticking sound from the flywheel area.
Thoughts on what might be causing it
      Thank you
      Mike

      • Hello Mike, thanks for stopping by

Almost any noise coming from the flywheel or crankset area is caused by the bearings. Try to tighten the bolts/nuts (on the flywheel and the crankset) then lean the bike on one side and put lubricant fluids around the assembly part while turning the flywheel or crankset.

    • Hi Roman

Your best bet is to contact the seller to get the missing part. If you bought it on Amazon, I recommend you to notify the company/seller right away. Or you can contact the seller through this L Now (Pooboo) customer service email: “LNOWBIKE@hotmail.com”
