L-Now Pooboo Pro Indoor Cycling Bike Review

Overview:
L-Now D770 Pooboo indoor cycling bike

Home > L-Now Pooboo > Pro D770 Indoor Cycling Bike

Designed to train riders from 5 feet to 6’3″ feet tall, with top of the line handlebars and other motivational features, the L-Now Pooboo Pro indoor cycling bike with dumbbells is a top choice spin bike under $500.

Full price is $800, but with L-Now discounts, it retails for less than $500 including delivery. The D770 is the most advanced indoor cycling bike in the Pooboo series, which is one of L-Now’s more affordable collections.

Its specs such as a 29-pound bidirectional effective flywheel, durable belt-box, and built-in dumbbell holders are impressive, especially considering the sale price.

Whether your priority is a strength workout, fast-cadence cardio, or cross-training full-body workout, you’ll likely find that Pooboo Pro with dumbbells fits the bill for your home spinning workouts.

A multi-grip handlebar is a must-have for indoor cycling workout, and it’s a strength of the new Pooboo Pro spin bike. The handlebars are designed with flat mode grips, hill climbing grips, and the popular drop bars for racing style rides. This versatility is uncommon on indoor cycling bikes under $1000.

Additionally, the L-Now Pro D770 indoor cycling bike includes an excellent tablet holder. It allows you to place your notebook, iPad, smartphones, even magazines on the holder to enjoy exercising.

And if that’s not enough, the Pooboo indoor cycling bike with dumbbells comes with a padded comfortable seat that features a center cut-out design to allow breathability and keep you cool during long spin workouts.

Thanks to its 4-way saddle adjustment (fore/aft up/down), the D770 Pro by Pooboo is an ideal match for teens and smaller adults as well.

Some other noteworthy qualities of the Pooboo Pro indoor cycle are adjustable base levelers (great for steady rides on unleveled frames) and durable transport wheels so you can move the bike without too much effort.

While this model is built for residential use, it has a heavy-duty crank and steel frame that can support up to 330 pounds weight. The factory warranty covers one year on frame and all the parts.

Warranty is not impressive but it is better than what many other brands offer for their budget spin bikes. See more specs in this Pooboo Pro indoor cycling bike review below.

Pooboo D770 Comparison!

This is where we usually tell you if the bike is a good value and we help you see the better options within the same price range. The Pooboo D770 Pro is a good value exercise bike and there is no other indoor cycle in this price range that can beat the quality, design or the features of this spin bike. So, rest assured that you are investing in the right product.

However, it does have a few shortcomings such as light flywheel and lack of RPM reading. If those are important factors for you and the lack of dumbbell holder is not an issue, I strongly suggest you check out the Pyhigh S7 indoor cycle because it has a 49-pound flywheel and RPM monitor.

Despite the fact that Pooboo Pro stationary bike is a top-seller by L-Now, it is not the best spin bike by this brand. There are several other L Now indoor cycling exercise bikes on the market, some of which feature commercial quality. If you are interested to find out about them, make sure to check out the link above.

To make it easy for you to navigate through this ultimate L Now pooboo indoor cycling bike review, I have created the table of content below.

Technical Information:

L Now Pooboo Pro Specifications:

  • Height: 49.2″
  • Width: 23.6″
  • Length: 53.1″
  • Transport Wheels: Yes
  • Foot Levelers: Yes, 4
  • Bike Weight: 90 Pounds
  • Max User Weight: 330 Pounds
  • User Height: 5′ to 6’3″
  • Shipping Weight: 95 Pounds

Featuring a nice compact dimension and large transport wheels, the L Now spinning bike D770 is easy to store and move from one place to another place in the house.

The 90 pounds steel frame capable of supporting up to 330 pounds user weight indicate the sturdiness while making the bike movement from one room to another very easy. Unlike cheaply made bikes, this L Now the indoor cycle has wide frame stabilizers to prevent rocking during high intensity out of the saddle workouts.

Additionally, this D770 Pooboo indoor cycling bike has 4 adjustable leveling feet. They will help protect the floor and keep the bike stable on uneven gym floors. Thanks to the leveling feet, you can use the machine on carpet or harder surfaces.

But that is just the beginning of what this residential use Live in Now spin bike has to offer. The L Now Pooboo indoor cycling bike trainer D770 has received multiple phases of paint to resist against corrosion. It also has a sweat resistance flywheel guard and durable belt box to minimize the maintenance.

Although L Now D770 Pooboo exercise bike is a good budget and lightweight residential use bike, it is not made for commercial use. Considering the features and construction of L Now D770, I don’t recommend it for more than two people daily use.

L-Now Pooboo D770 Monitor:

L-Now D770 LCD Monitor
  • L Now D770 monitor displays the time, cal, HR, speed, and distance (no RPM or watt).
  • The monitor is not compatible with non-coded wireless HR straps.
  • The monitor is non-backlit so it is hard to see the stats in low-light condition.
  • L Now D770 monitor is wired and it is not Bluetooth or ANT/+ enabled.
  • The computer runs on batteries (included).

The L Now exercise bike D770 console is not compatible with wireless heart rate chest straps, but it has pulse sensors allowing you to stay within target heart rate training zones as you workout. In its price class, the D770 fitness monitor is too basic because at this price point there are other indoor cycles that offer a better RPM monitor.

The non-backlit monitor makes it difficult to see your spinning workout stats in the low-light condition. It is also not wireless which means the sensor on the flywheel sends data to the monitor via a cable. Therefore, if you not careful during the ride or when adjusting the handlebars, the wire can be crimped and cause maintenance.

The L Now Pooboo indoor cycling bike belt driven D770 does not track the watts. It also doesn’t have internal memory, Bluetooth or ANT/+ connectivity. Therefore, you can’t save daily workouts on the monitor or on spinning Apps.

However, there is an easy solution that enables you to see your RPM, save workout progress on the apps and also compete with other cyclists online. This simple solution includes a Wahoo RPM sensor. It cost $30 and is very popular among indoor cyclists. Search our website for Wahoo sensor and spin bike computer to learn more about this optional accessory.

Pedals and Q-factor:

Pooboo pro pedals and q-factor size
  • L Now Pooboo Pro D770 exercise bike has single side toe cage pedals.
  • Toe pedal straps are adjustable to secure the feet during the ride.
  • The size of Q-factor for this L-Now bike is not disclosed.
  • This indoor cycling bike is built with standard 9/16″ pedal thread.

This Live in Now exercise bike features thick and solid crank arms and toe cage pedals. Built and designed with residential standard, the L Now Pooboo Pro D770 exercise bike can support all spinning workouts including out of the saddle rides. Rest assured, the pedals and crank arms won’t snap off during intense out of the saddle spin workouts.

Unfortunately, the pedals are not SPD compatible which means if you want to use cycling shoes, you need to replace the pedals. But thankfully, this “Live in Now” spinning bike has the standard 9/16″ pedal thread size. So, you can replace its pedals with pretty much any clipless spin bike pedals (search our website for the best spin bike spd pedals).

The Q-factor, one of the most important features when buying indoor cycling bikes is not disclosed. But since no one is complaining about this aspect, we believe it is anywhere from 7.5″ inches to 8 inches which is acceptable.

In case you are new to indoor cycling, the q factor is the horizontal distance between the two pedals. Wide q factors tend to keep riders’ feet too far apart which can cause injuries if you have narrow hips.

Tip: For a full-body workout with the benefit of better muscle tone you can add max resistance out of the saddle workouts to your training.

Pooboo Pro Flywheel:

Pooboo Pro D770 flywheel
  • L Now Pooboo Pro D770 flywheel weighs 29 pounds to provide a fast, smooth and quiet indoor exercise.
  • The flywheel has a plastic sweat protection guard.
  • It has the fixed-wheel bidirectional flywheel system.

The L Now Pooboo Pro spin bike flywheel is not impressive weighing 29 pounds. But it is capable of providing smooth indoor cycling workouts with a large range of challenge to meet the needs of beginner trainees (not elite or mid-level riders).

It is also painted blue and black which makes it look good and easy to clean. The polished steel around the perimeter of the flywheel and black/white colors gives the bike a great look.

Just like any other budget indoor cycling exercise bike, the L Now D770 exercise bike is fixed-wheel (fix-gear). Meaning the flywheel moves and stops with the pedals. And that has a pro and a con. While it allows you to pedal reverse and simulate different leg muscles, it doesn’t allow you to take a short break or jump off the bike until the flywheel completely stops.

Note: Freewheel bikes are more expensive. They work similar to bicycles. Meaning even after you stop pedaling, the flywheel still turns. So, you can jump off the bike in case of emergency or take a few second brakes whenever you want, without having to wait for the flywheel to stop.

L Now D770 Resistance Technology:

Pooboo pro resistance system
  • L Now D770 exercise bike has a friction resistance system (the new model comes with magnetic resistance).
  • The felt pad is made of high-quality wool to minimize the noise.
  • The Pooboo Pro stationary exercise bike comes with a manual knob adjustment system (not electronically).
  • The resistance system along with the flywheel has a sweat protection cover.
  • L Now Pooboo D770 indoor cycling bike resistance knob also works as an emergency brake.

This L Now D770 Pooboo indoor cycle has unlimited friction felt-pad resistance system (new version comes with magnetic resistance). While it is not as quiet as a magnetic resistance bike, it provides infinite resistance.

Unlike magnetic bikes, it doesn’t have certain levels of resistance. Each knob turn provides a challenging workout to suit the needs of both indoor cyclists and mimics uphill real road riding. So, no matter your fitness level, you can always make the workout more intense with an extra turn of the knob.

When buying the Live in Now Pooboo exercise bike D770, you don’t need to worry about the quality of the breaking pads. They are made of heat-tolerant high-quality wool which is capable of providing a relatively quiet and smooth ride.

There is also a durable plastic protection guard above the resistance to make sure the breaking system stays dry and doesn’t cause maintenance. Overall, it is consistent, durable and quieter than some other cheap friction resistance bikes.

But it is not as quiet as the magnetic resistance system, which is why I suggest you consider a magnetic spin bike if you want to make less noise and avoid disturbing your partner during exercise. (Search for the best magnetic spin bikes in this website).

D770 Indoor Cycle Drive System:

L-Now Pooboo Pro with belt driven system
  • L Now D770 indoor cycling bike is belt driven.
  • It is quiet and requires little maintenance.
  • The gear ratio is not disclosed but estimated 4:1.
  • It has a high-quality belt and a durable belt box.

If you have been reading this L Now D770 review, you already know this spin bike is belt driven. But let’s see why it is better than chain drive bikes.

Belt system doesn’t have hundreds of tiny rings and pins, plates, and rollers like a chine do. Therefore, it has less maintenance and lasts longer. But that is not the only benefits of belt driven spin bikes.

Featuring belt makes the bike quieter and eliminates the need for oiling. And if the belt is high quality like the one this L Now cycling bike is equipped with, it doesn’t stretch. So, you don’t need to deal with adjustment tools often.

Looking at the size of the belt-ring and 29-pound flywheel, I believe this L Now cycling bike has a relatively high-gear ratio which means the flywheel turns faster but with less intensity and momentum, especially the very first seconds of exercise.

If you prefer a lower gear ratio system with more momentum and intensity, I recommend you pick a model with a heavier flywheel. But if you prefer a higher gear ratio and faster flywheel which is more similar to road bikes, I suggest the Keiser and Life Fitness IC4, 5, 6, 7, 8 bikes. They are several times more expensive than this Live in Now spin bike but provide up to 12:1 gear ratio. Meaning for each complete pedal stride, the flywheel turns 12 times.

Handlebars and Seat:

Pooboo pro saddle handlebars
  • Multiple grip possibilities for the handlebars so you can hone in on specific muscle groups to work your upper body and core.
  • Fully adjustable seat making it possible for people of most body sizes between 5″ – 6’3″ to comfortably exercise.
  • Stainless steel handlebar and seat posts.
  • Handlebars are only 2-way (up/down) adjustable.
  • L Now Pooboo Pro cycling bike includes built-in phone holder and pulse sensors on the handlebars.

Designed for comfort, the L NOW Pooboo Pro indoor cycling bike trainer belt drive D770 features an adjustable seat that moves fore and aft as well as up and down so that many trainees can acquire a safe custom fit.

The seat is cushioned and breathable with a center cut-out to keep the rider cool and reduce pressure during summer rides. It is a comfortable seat and rare to find on budget spin bikes.

However, unlike a few other L-Now spin bikes, the D770 handlebars are only vertically adjustable which is the biggest con I can find for this bike But it is NOT a deal-breaker because this bike does not have a V-shape (offset) frame.

If it did have a V-shape frame like Keiser bikes, the lack of horizontal adjustment wouldn’t have allowed the riders above 6 feet to exercise comfortably. But since the Pooboo Pro cycle has a parallel frame, it can accommodate riders up to 6’1″ comfortably despite its lack of customizable handlebars.

To make up for the lack of adjustment, the handlebars feature racing style grip and the climbing position grip. On top of that, there is also one easy to reach device holders built-into the handlebars to allow you to stay entertained during the exercise. And thankfully unlike L-Now D600, this bike’s media shelf is big and can fit pretty much all types of devices.

Additionally, this indoor cycle features high-quality knob adjustment system. They tighten nicely, so you don’t need to worry about the bike jostling during intense indoor cycling workout.

As I mentioned earlier in this L Now Pooboo Pro indoor cycling bike review, the seat is soft padded and comfortable to support the long rides. So, when you buy L NOW D770 indoor cycling bike, you don’t necessarily need a seat cover or seat replacement. However, if you want to change the seat, the replacements are widely available on the market because this bike uses the standard seat clamp size.

Live in Now D770 Price and Warranty:

  • L Now Poooboo indoor cycling bike D770 price is around $500.
  • This Live in Now D770 indoor cycle includes residential warranty:
  • 1-Year on the frame and all the L-Now indoor cycling bike parts.
  • This bike doesn’t come with a labor warranty.
  • To order parts under warranty you can contact the seller through Amazon messages or through this L Now customer service email: LNOWBIKE@hotmail.com.

Depending on where you buy this L Now spin bike the price is different. On Amazon U.S, you can purchase the L Now Pooboo Pro indoor cycling bike for under $500 from one retailer while from some other retailers priced this bike ridiculously high ($2000). Other than Amazon U.S. in some other countries also the price for some of these L-Now bikes are really high and I don’t recommend them because there are better options at those price points

On Amazon U.S. you may also find the L Now spin bike D770 discounted or even second hand sometimes, but that doesn’t happen often since there is a high demand for L-Now spin bikes.

The Pooboo indoor bike comes with one year warranty for the entire bike which is better than what Some other brands offer (90-days) but not as good as what Schwinn Fitness, Sole Fitness or BodyCraft offer (you can search for Schwinn, BodyCraft and Sole spin bikes on this website).

Shipping and Assembly:

  • The L Now D770 manual and assembly tools are included.
  • L-Now D770 assembly is fairly easy with only a few parts to install.
  • Set-up time is only about 30-50 minutes because the unit arrives mostly assembled.
  • This bike includes free shipping in the U.S.
  • Pooboo Pro D770 ships in one box that weighs around 95 pounds.
  • Expert assembly is not included.

The Live In Now Pooboo D770 spin bike comes with free shipping and in one relatively lightbox that weighs around 95lbs. You can ask the carrier to help bring the bike inside or unbox the bike outside and bring inside in tow pieces.

Aside from the bike, there are the L Now indoor cycling bike assembly tools and manual in the box. So, you wouldn’t need to buy, borrow or use other tools for assembly of D770 bike.

The L Now Pooboo Pro cycling exercise bike D770 comes about 80% assembled, which helps you save $70 on assembly cost. Remaining assembly is relatively straight-forward but still might take you 30 minutes to an hour.

Assembly manual is very easy to follow as long as you pay attention to detail and have little mechanical common sense. It is recommended to do the assembly with 2 people.

The parts that you need to assembly are leg stabilizers, pedals, seat, handlebars and computer. The flywheel, drive mechanism and crank arms come pre-assembled.

Pooboo Pro Indoor Cycling Bike D770 Pros:

Belt driven system:
This Pooboo Pro indoor bike guarantees a smooth, natural feel and workout experience easy on the joints. The belt driven system helps create a quiet and low-maintenance workout. Unlike chain-driven bikes, D770 drive system doesn’t require lubing so your gym floor and spin clothes are always clean.

Ergonomic design:
Although lacking in adjustable handlebars, this Pooboo Pro indoor cycle is built with the user comfort in mind with a padded breathable seat, multi-grip curved handlebars, and tablet holder within an arm’s reach.

Handlebars:
While the lack of vertical adjustment on the handlebar is the main con of D770 Pooboo indoor cycle, the multi-grip design of the handlebar is the main pro on this bike. D770 comes with racing style drop handlebars to allow multiple riding postures to make your training more comprehensive.

Heart Rate
Pooboo Pro indoor cycling bike tracks rider’s heart rate “HR” via built-in pulse sensors on the handlebars. Knowing your HR is an important factor, especially if your doctor advises you to stay within a certain HR range. Also looking at the heart rate, you can understand which exercise zone you are. For, example 100-120 beat per minute indicates you are in health improvement zone while 120-150 beat per minute indicates you are in the fitness zone (fat burning zone).

  • Integrated dumbbell holder with two dumbbells for cross-training full body workout.
  • Durable transport wheels for easy indoor portability.
  • 4 Adjustable feet leveling for a steady and stable ride on all types of floors.
  • Integrated tablet holder keeps your mobile device secure and at eye level during workouts.
  • A 29-pound effective flywheel supports a smooth and unhindered pedaling motion.
  • 4-Way adjustable seat makes it easy for multiple people to enjoy the same fitness machine.
  • Affordable price and good value for the money.
  • Flywheel and brake pad sweat protection guard to decrease maintenance work.
  • L Now D770 cycle features an easy assembly process.
  • Multi-grip handlebars provide a comfortable exercise for riders.
  • Equipped with a sturdy steel frame and crank system that support up to 330 pounds user weight.

Pooboo Pro Indoor Cycling Bike D770 Cons:

Pedals
Pooboo D770 spin bike comes with toe caged pedals only. So, if you want to use clipless spinning shoes, you will need to replace the pedals. A pair of dual-sided Shimano compatible pedals cost around $40. Thankfully this Pooboo belt driven spin bike comes with standard 9/16″ pedals thread size. So, the SPD replacement pedals are available widely.

Handlebars:
The major design con of D770 indoor cycling bike by Pooboo is its 2-way adjustable handlebars. While the handlebars can be adjusted horizontally, they are not vertically adjustable. Therefore, some riders may not find the perfect spin bike fit on this Pooboo D770 spin bike.

Bike monitor:
The console is fairly basic and comes without the backlight, Watt, RPM, ANT/+ or Bluetooth connectivity. With that being said, this type of monitor is not too unusual for budget spin bikes.

Frictions resistance
Pooboo indoor cycling bike smooth belt driven D770 creates a bit of noise and requires more maintenance compared to magnetic resistance spin bikes. On friction resistance bikes, the brake pad comes in direct contact with the flywheel and wears out after a few years of use.

  • No Bluetooth or ANT/+ connectivity.
  • The Pooboo Pro D770 isn’t equipped with a water bottle holder.

Last Word on the L-Now Pooboo Pro Belt Drive Exercise Bike D770:

With good basics and Amazing extras, the D770 Pooboo belt drive exercise bike outshines competitors in just about every way. It draws second glances thanks to its pro handlebars and built-in dumbbell holder.

The dumbbell holder design was originally seen on Peloton bikes and due to its effective results, other brands are including this feature as well. It allows you to incorporate the lower body workout with the upper body exercise and turn your spinning session into a full body exercise.

Although the Pooboo D770 indoor cycle is made for starters, it can also meet the needs of mid-level and even more serious cyclists. Featuring belt driven system and friction resistance, the Pooboo D770 exercise bike can deliver a smooth, challenging and low-maintenance indoor cycling exercise.

Other advantages include sensors on the handlebars for heart rate monitoring, heavy duty shrouded frame for low-maintenance, leveling feet and a large tablet holder.

L-Now/Pooboo designed the Pro D770 spin bike to compete as a best buy indoor cycling bike under $500 for 2019 and beyond. Although the retail price is higher, you can expect to pay around $450 during sales events throughout the year.

For the price, you won’t likely find another spin bike with equivalent handlebars, 330 pounds weight capacity, dumbbells, and dumbbell holders, and a comparable tablet holder to help keep you motivated and entertained.

The Pooboo indoor cycling exercise bike can be a good investment in a family’s health, and for the price, it’s a good buy for a single trainee too.

Although this indoor cycle is top-of-the-line for under $500, it does lack in magnetic resistance technology, which means compared to magnetic spin bikes, it makes more noise and also the brake pad requires replacing every few years.

If you prefer quieter indoor workout without having to worry about changing resistance pads every few years, look up our website for the best magnetic spin bikes.

9.7 Total Score
Good Value

The Pooboo Pro spin bike with dumbbells is definitely impressive for a spin bike under $500. It can be an excellent match for a family home gym, as the adjustability of the saddle, resistance and pedal straps make it a fine physical fit for anyone from 5' to 6'3" and up to 330 pounds. Additionally, the Pooboo D770 Pro indoor cycling bike has some plastic protection guard to make sure the brake pad, bearings, and flywheel remain dry and low-maintenance. Considering its physical performance, dumbbells and handlebars extras, Pooboo D770 is one of the best buys for the price.
