Cyclace Indoor Cycling Bike Review | Is it Really Worth it?

The Cyclace indoor cycling bike provides a low-cost way to tone your body without breaking your bank account. This exerciser bike is equipped with one of the best types of handlebars and also has a belt-driven system for a smooth and quiet indoor cycling exercise.

Cyclace also has a good tabler holder that can securely keep your device in place during the spin exercise. Although it comes with a friction resistance system, it does have a relatively heavy flywheel that offers a smooth and natural pedal stroke.

But what stands out the most about this Cyclace exercise bike is its durable construction that can support up to 330 lbs user weight. Additionally, this spin bike has a long-range of seat adjustment that fit riders from 5’1″ to 6’5″. So, pretty much everyone in your family with an average height should be able to do a comfortable spin workout.

Additionally, to help you remain comfortable and provide the needed support during longer spinning rides, the Cyclace bike has a well-padded seat with a center cutout for breathability to keep you cool during summer rides.

Other highlights of the Cyclace indoor cycle include 4 adjustable base levelers, a 1-year warranty on the frame and all the parts, a durable flywheel sweat-protection cover, a water bottle holder, and a compact design that takes very little space.

Here is the deal though! While it might look a perfect option for a novice user, there are a few things missing on this spin bike that you need to know beforehand. For instance, the monitor is so basic (dark and small) that you can barely see your stats in daylight let alone low-light conditions. It doesn’t have backlit and can’t track the RPM or heart rate.

It is also not equipped with SPD elements on the pedals and comes with wool pad friction resistance which means the bike will make noise and you will have to do maintenance (change the resistance wool pad) every couple of years depending on how often you use the bike.

Cyclace Bike Alternatives

This is where we often update and tell our readers if Cyclace indoor bike is a good value for the price. For $360, it is a good option if you don’t care about its resistance system (friction which means extra noise and maintenance).

However, I do believe there are better options on the market. One, in particular, is the newly released Dmasun bike. It supports a 330-lb user weight and has one major superior feature which is magnetic resistance that has less maintenance and makes less noise.

Another alternative spin bike to Cyclace is the Kouz Live. Although it doesn’t have the durability of the Cyclace, it does come with magnetic resistance which is quieter and smoother than frictions resistance. Plus, it’s often $100 less expensive than the Cyclace bike.

If you are still not sure which one to buy or you need clarification on some of the terms we used in this Cyclace exercise bike review, we encourage you to leave a comment below. One of our team members will get back to you as soon as possible.

Cyclace Indoor Exerciser Bike Technical Information:

Specifications:

  • Height: 47″
  • Width: 24″
  • Length: 47″
  • Transport Wheels: Yes
  • Foot Levelers: Yes, 4
  • Bottle Holder: Yes
  • Bike Weight: 86 Pounds
  • Max User Weight: 330 Pounds
  • User Inseam: 28″ to 39″ (5.1′ 6.5′)
  • Shipping Weight: 90 Pounds
  • Power: Runs on batteries (not included)

Featuring compact dimensions and large transport wheels, the Cyclace spinning bike is easy to store and move from one place to another place in the house.

The 86 pounds steel frame that is capable of supporting up to 330 pounds of user weight indicates the sturdiness while making the bike movement a snap. Unlike low-quality bikes, this Cyclace indoor cycle has wide frame stabilizers to prevent rocking during high-intensity spin workouts.

Additionally, the Cyclace spin bike has 4 adjustable feet levelers. They will help protect the floor and keep the bike stable on uneven gym floors. But that is just the beginning of what this residential use spin bike has to offer. The Cyclace indoor cycling bike has received multi-phases of paint to resist corrosion. It also has a sweat resistance flywheel guard and a durable belt box to minimize the maintenance.

Although Cyclace indoor cycling bike is a good budget and lightweight residential use bike, it is not made for commercial use. Considering the features and construction, I don’t recommend the Cyclace for more than two people’s daily use. If there are more people wishing to do spin workouts, I would suggest you consider one of the best spin bikes we feature for 2022.

Spinning Monitor:

Cyclace spin bike monitor
  • Cyclace monitor displays the time, cal, speed, and distance (no RPM or watt).
  • The monitor is not compatible with any type of wireless HR strap.
  • The monitor is without a backlit so it is hard to see the stats in low-light condition.
  • The computer runs on batteries (not included).

The Cyclace exercise bike fitness display is not compatible with wireless heart rate chest straps, and it doesn’t have pulse sensors. Therefore, you won’t be able to see your heart rate on the screen of the bike. In its price class, this fitness monitor is not a deal-breaker since there aren’t many better options.

Note: The non-backlit monitor makes it difficult to see your spinning workout stats in the low-light condition. It is also not wireless which means the sensor on the flywheel sends data to the monitor via a cable. Therefore, if you not careful during the ride or when adjusting the handlebars, the wire can be crimped and break.

This bike also does not track the watts or the user’s RPM and doesn’t have internal memory, Bluetooth or ANT/+ connectivity. Therefore, you can’t save daily workouts on the monitor or on spinning Apps.

However, there is an easy solution that enables you to see your RPM, save workout progress on the apps and also compete with other cyclists online. This simple solution includes a pair of speed and RPM sensors. They cost $30-$50 and are very popular among indoor cyclists. Search our website for Wahoo sensor and spin bike computer to learn more about this optional accessory.

Pedals and Q-factor:

Pedals for cyclace bike
  • Cyclace exercise bike has single side toe cage pedals.
  • Toe pedal straps are adjustable to secure the feet during the ride.
  • The Q-factor size for this bike is not disclosed.
  • This indoor cycling bike is built with standard 9/16″ pedal thread.

Cyclace indoor cycling bike features thick and solid crank arms and toe cage pedals. Built and designed with residential standard, the Cyclace exercise bike can support all spinning workouts including out of the saddle rides. Rest assured, the pedals and crank arms won’t snap off during intense out of the saddle spin workouts.

Unfortunately, the pedals are not SPD compatible which means if you want to use cycling shoes, you need to replace the pedals. But thankfully, this indoor bike has the standard 9/16″ pedal thread size. So, you can replace its pedals with pretty much any clipless spin bike pedals.

The Q-factor, one of the most important features when buying indoor cycling bikes is not disclosed. But since no one is complaining about this aspect, we believe it is anywhere from 7.5″ inches to 8 inches which is acceptable.

In case you are new to indoor cycling, the q factor is the horizontal distance between the two pedals. Wide q factors tend to keep riders’ feet too far apart which can cause injuries if you have narrow hips.

Flywheel Weight:

Cyclace indoor bike flywheel
  • Cyclace flywheel weighs 35 pounds to provide a smooth and enjoyable indoor exercise.
  • The flywheel has a plastic sweat protection guard.
  • It has a fixed-wheel bidirectional flywheel system.

This stationary exercise bike’s flywheel weight 35 lbs which is not bad for the price. It is capable of providing smooth indoor cycling workouts with a large range of challenges to meet the needs of beginner and mid-level trainees.

It is also painted nicely which makes it look good and easy to clean. The polished steel around the perimeter of the flywheel and black/white colors gives the bike a great look.

Just like any other budget indoor cycling exercise bike, the Cyclace exercise bike is fixed-wheel (fix-gear). Meaning the flywheel moves and stops with the pedals which come with a pro and a con.

It provides a good workout without letting you take breaks and allows you to pedal reverse and use different leg muscles but it doesn’t allow you to do coasting (take a short break) or jump off the bike until the flywheel completely stops.

Note: Freewheel bikes are more expensive. They work similarly to bicycles. Meaning even after you stop pedaling, the flywheel still turns. So, you can jump off the bike in case of an emergency or take a few seconds brakes whenever you want, without having to wait for the flywheel to stop.

Resistance Technology:

braking pad
  • Cyclace exercise bike has a friction resistance system (NOT magnetic).
  • The felt pad is made of high-quality wool to minimize the noise.
  • This stationary exercise bike comes with a manual knob adjustment system (not electronically).
  • The resistance system along with the flywheel has a sweat protection cover.
  • This bike’s resistance knob also works as an emergency brake.
  • It comes with an extra brake pad in the package for future replacement.

This Cyclace indoor cycling bike has an unlimited resistance system. While it is not as quiet or low-maintenance as a magnetic resistance bike, it provides infinite resistance.

Unlike magnetic bikes, it doesn’t have certain levels of resistance. Each knob turn provides a challenging workout to suit the needs of both indoor cyclists and mimics uphill real road riding. So, no matter your fitness level, you can always make the workout more intense with an extra turn of the knob.

When buying this spin bike, you don’t need to worry about the quality of the braking pads. They are made of heat-tolerant high-quality wool which is capable of providing a relatively quiet and smooth ride.

There is also a durable plastic protection guard above the resistance to make sure the braking system stays dry and doesn’t cause maintenance. Overall, it is consistent, durable and quieter than some other cheap friction resistance bikes.

But it is not as quiet as the magnetic resistance system, which is why I suggest you consider a magnetic spin bike if you want to make less noise and avoid disturbing your partner during exercise.

Transmission System:

Cyclace transmission
  • Cyclace indoor cycling bike is belt-driven.
  • It is quiet and requires little maintenance.
  • The type of belt is not disclosed but we believe it is a V-ribbed which is common for the price.

If you have been reading the Cyclace indoor cycling bike reviews, you already know this spin bike is belt-driven. But let’s see why it is better than chain drive bikes.

Belt system doesn’t have hundreds of tiny rings and pins, plates, and rollers like a chine do. Therefore, it has less maintenance and lasts longer. But that is not the only benefit of belt-driven spin bikes.

Featuring a belt makes the bike quieter and eliminates the need for oiling. And if the belt is high quality which seems to be the case for this spin bike cycling bike, it doesn’t stretch. So, you don’t need to deal with adjustment tools often.

Looking at the size of the belt-ring and 35-pound flywheel, I believe this indoor cycle has a relatively low-gear ratio which means the flywheel turns slower with more intensity and momentum, especially the very first seconds of exercise.

If you prefer a higher gear ratio system for high-speed workouts, I recommend you pick a model with a lighter flywheel. Spin bikes such as Keiser M3i with advanced drive-system have high gear-ratio and faster flywheel which is more similar to road bikes but unfortunately, they are pretty expensive.

Handlebars and Seat:

Handlebars of cyclace bike
  • Offers multi-grip curved handlebars including racing style drop bars.
  • Fully adjustable seat making it possible for people of most body sizes between 5’1″ – 6’5″ to comfortably exercise.
  • Stainless steel handlebar and seat posts.
  • Handlebars are only 2-way (up/down) adjustable.
  • Cyclace bike includes built-in tablet holder on the handlebars.

Designed for comfort, this indoor cycling bike features an adjustable seat that moves fore and aft as well as up and down so that many trainees can acquire a safe custom fit.

The seat is cushioned and breathable with a center cut-out to keep the rider cook and reduce pressure during summer rides. It is a comfortable seat and rare to find on budget spin bikes.

However, unlike a few other options in its price class, the Cyclace handlebars are only vertically adjustable which is the biggest con (aside from the friction resistance) that I can find for this bike. But it is NOT a deal-breaker because this bike does not have a V-shape (offset) frame.

If it did have a V-shape frame like Keiser bikes, the lack of horizontal adjustment would have limited the user inseam size. But since the Cyclace has a parallel frame, it ha a long-range of inseam capacity and can accommodate most riders up to 6’5″ comfortably despite its lack of customizable handlebars.

To make up for the lack of adjustment, the handlebars feature racing style grip and the climbing position grip. On top of that, there is also one easy to reach tablet holder built-into the handlebars to allow you to stay entertained during the spinning exercise.

Additionally, this indoor cycle features a high-quality knob adjustment system. They tighten nicely, so you don’t need to worry about the bike seat or handlebars jostling during intense indoor cycling workout.

Price and Warranty:

  • Cyclace indoor cycling bike price is around $360.
  • This indoor cycle includes residential warranty:
  • 1-Year on the frame and all the indoor cycling bike parts.
  • This bike doesn’t come with a labor warranty.
  • To order parts under warranty you can contact the seller through Amazon messages or through this email: cyclaceteam@gmail.com.

Depending on where you buy this Cyclace spin bike the price might be different. On Amazon U.S, you can purchase the Cyclace indoor cycling bike for under $400.

On Amazon U.S. you may also find the Cyclace spin bike with a discounted price sometimes, but that doesn’t happen often since there is a high demand for this spin bike.

Cyclace comes with a 1-year warranty for the entire bike which is better than what some other brands offer (90-days) but not as good as what Schwinn Fitness offers for the same price bikes (you can search for Schwinn, BodyCraft and Sole spin bikes on this website).

Shipping and Assembly:

  • The Cyclace manual and assembly tools are included.
  • Its assembly is fairly easy with only a few parts to install.
  • Set-up time is about 30 minutes because the unit arrives mostly assembled.
  • This bike includes free shipping in the U.S.
  • Cyclace ships in one box that weighs around 90 pounds.
  • Expert assembly is not included.

The Cyclace comes with free shipping and in one relatively lightbox that weighs around 90 lbs. You can ask the carrier to help bring the bike inside or unbox the bike outside and bring inside in tow pieces.

Aside from the bike, there are the Cyclace indoor cycling bike assembly tools and manuals in the box. So, you wouldn’t need to buy, borrow or use other tools for assembly of Cyclace bike.

The Cyclace exercise bike comes about 80% assembled, which helps you save $80 on assembly cost. The remaining assembly is relatively straight-forward but still might take you 30 minutes to an hour.

The assembly manual is very easy to follow as long as you pay attention to detail and have little mechanical common sense. It is recommended to do the assembly with 2 people.

The parts that you need to assembly are leg stabilizers, pedals, seat, handlebars, and monitor. The flywheel, drive mechanism and crank arms come pre-assembled.

Cyclace Exercise Bike Pros:

Belt driven system:
This Cyclace indoor bike guarantees a smooth, natural feel and workout experience easy on the joints. The belt-driven system helps create a quiet and low-maintenance workout. Unlike chain-driven bikes, the Cyclace bike doesn’t require lubing so your gym floor remains clean.

Ergonomic design:
Although lacking in adjustable handlebars, this Cyclace indoor cycle is built with the user comfort in mind with a padded breathable seat, multi-grip curved handlebars, and water bottle holder within an arm’s reach.

  • Durable transport wheels for easy indoor portability.
  • Heavy flywheel and 1-year full bike warranty.
  • 4 Adjustable base levelers for a steady and stable ride on all types of floors.
  • Affordable price and good value for the money.
  • Tablet bracket for your device while exercising.
  • Flywheel sweat protection guard to decrease maintenance work.
  • Fairly easy assembly process.
  • 4-Way adjustable seat combined with multi-grip handlebars provides a comfortable ride for riders.
  • Equipped with a sturdy steel frame and 330 pounds of weight capacity.

Cyclace Exercise Bike Cons:

Pedals
Cyclace spin bike comes with toe caged pedals only. So, if you want to use clipless spinning shoes, you will need to replace the pedals. A pair of dual-sided Shimano compatible pedals cost around $40. Thankfully the Cyclace spin bike comes with standard 9/16″ pedals thread size. So, the SPD replacement pedals are available widely.

Handlebars:
The major design con of Cyclace indoor cycling bike is its 2-way adjustable handlebars. While the handlebars can be adjusted horizontally, they are not vertically adjustable. Therefore, some riders may not find the perfect bike fit on this Cyclace indoor spinning bike.

Bike monitor:
The console is very basic and comes without the backlight, Watt, RPM, ANT/+ or Bluetooth connectivity. Although, this type of monitor is not too unusual for budget spin bikes. So, this bike’s low-tech monitor is not necessarily considered a deal-breaker as you wouldn’t get much better than this unless you spend $400+.

Frictions resistance
Cyclace indoor exercise bike creates a bit of noise and requires more maintenance compared to magnetic resistance spin bikes. On friction resistance bikes, the brake pad comes in direct contact with the flywheel and wears out after a few years of use.

  • No Bluetooth or ANT/+ connectivity.
  • No pulse/heart-rate reading.

Last Word on The Cyclace Indoor Cycling Bike.

The Cyclace indoor cycling bike can be a good match for beginners and also people who already have some indoor cycling experience. It offers a good range of challenges with its 35-pound flywheel and infinite friction resistance system.

This indoor cycle also helps keep motivation high with plenty of hand-grip positions and a tablet holder. We would suggest you check out our best budget spin bikes before buying because often we feature good deals on durable spin bikes.

All in all, this Cyclace exercise is a good deal that has an adequate force to keep any cyclist challenged, motivated and help to reach new levels of physical fitness. Cyclace bike is especially favored by smaller trainees who find that standard health spinning class cycles are a bit too large for their height.

  1. Very disappointed! This is a sturdy stationary bike that would have been wonderful if it didn’t make a loud, unpleasant screeching sound that makes it unusable.

I still have time to return the bike for a refund but disassembling a product that required assembly is something we’re trying to figure out. There is no way I can put this back in a box but we will figure it out.

    • Hi,

The bike is okay for me, but the belt came off today while I was riding it. It’s only one month old. I’ve been riding it five days per week, but still….weird. Anyway, do you know how to get the belt back on?

      thanks!
      Pam

    • Hi Lorraine, unfortunately, this is a common issue for friction resistance indoor bikes. I know it is a hassle but I suggest you disassemble and send it back. For this price, you can either buy a Maxkare or wait a couple of weeks for Finer Form or HouseFit indoor cycles to become available.

      • I just assembled bike, however the brake will not release. If I try to turn knob to loosen, it just unscrews the knob but doesn’t change resistance.

        • Hello Sara, thanks for stopping by

This problem is probably caused by either a loose adjusting nut that connects the resistance rod with the knob or damaged resistance assembly which includes a rod, adjusting nuts and the metal spring that is supposed to pull back the resistance pad when you loosen the knob.

      • Do you have any guidance on how to put the belt back on? I have only had the bike one month and the belt came off while I was riding it.

        thanks!
        Pam

        • Hello Pam, it is a very common thing that happens for indoor cycling bikes and there are several things that could cause it. The easiest solution is to open the belt box, loosen the belt adjuster, put the belt back on, and tighten the adjusters properly. Most of the time this would solve the problem.

          I hope it helps

  2. Hi,

The bike is okay for me except after just a month of use, today, the belt came off it while I was riding. Do you know of any way to get the belt back on? The belt is not broken; I can’t figure out how it came off.

    thanks!

  3. Hi,

I have been using this bike for one month, and today the belt came off while I was riding it. Any idea on how to get the belt back on?

    thanks!
    Pam

  4. Nice bike but the belt on my bike fell off as well. I contacted the manufacturer and they refuse to honor the 1 year warranty. They offered me 50 dollars as compensation to fix my bike. Still dealing with them.

    • Hello JV, thanks for stopping by and letting us know your experience with the Cyclace (we appreciate it very much)!

Not sure about the rest of our team here at YEB but I personally don’t think it’s the best deal for the price (at least not anymore). There are better spin bikes such as HMC that come with much better features.

  5. I’ve had the bike 4 days. The belt slipped off yesterday, I realigned it, and it came off again. Clearly the back drive gear and the front one do not align. I’ve got the bike torn apart to look and see if there is a way to adjust so the front and back belt drives align. If not, there is no way the thing is going to work. I’m hoping that my bike was poorly assembled. But it seems probable that there is just a bad design here. If the drive gears can’t align, The belt will slip off over and over.

    • Hello Andrew, thanks for stopping by and letting us and our readers know your experience with the Cyclace. Unfortunately, you are not the first person who had this issue with the Cyclace indoor bike, and obviously, it is a design/quality issue that I hope they get rid of it.

  6. hello, I’m a new cyclace member,in the box was a card that says congratulations on getting a new exercise bike mat. How do I redeem this gift

    • Hello Nicole, thanks for stopping by

They either forgot to put it in the box or they will send it later. Either way, I suggest you wait a week before you ask them about the mat.

  7. How do I get in touch with cyclace the company. I am having trouble with belt falling off ,over an over.it was a gift and the book is missing. It is a flat belt. Ythanks hope u can help

  8. My bike wheel smells like fire and I’ve only had it three months. Do I need to lubricate? It does squeak but it makes a noise for sure and it’s louder that it used to be.
