Best Netflix Shows to Watch When Indoor Cycling

What to Watch on Netflix When Cycling Indoors

We love indoor cycling exercise, and it is a tremendous amount of fun, but let’s be honest, it can get boring, especially if you are not using paid indoor cycling applications. Not every day can we do sprints and short interval sessions. Sometimes we need to get base miles in, which are long sessions at a light effort.

Many of us tend to watch Netflix or listen to Spotify musics while riding indoors to pass the time. Having a show to binge-watch while cycling goes a long way. In this article, we want to run through some of the best shows to watch while cycling that we think are just personal gold.

Squid Game

How can we not have this legendary show on this list? The Squid Game is a fantastic show all about a group of 456 people that enter a game where if you lose, you are eliminated, not just from the competition but its sudden death.

It’s an incredible show and exceptionally gripping. You’re are constantly waiting for the next episode and will get completely hooked. I firmly believe this was one of the best shows I have ever watched and feel it is incredible and well worth anyone’s time. There’s currently only one season, but they talk about the next squid game season coming out soon.

Breaking Bad

Who hasn’t heard of Breaking Bad, it is an amazing show, and we can all get behind how amazing it is. When Walter White, a Chemistry teacher, is diagnosed with terminal cancer and realizes he only has a few months to live, he has to find a way to support his family after he has gone.

Typically he didn’t take any regular route to achieve this but started cooking meth. The journey of him and his partner Jesse is gripping and hilarious. It’s well worth a watch and has plenty of seasons to keep you busy. You also have a spin-off, and new miniseries called better call Saul, which is worth watching.

Arrested Development

Arrested Development is a fantastic show, and it’s a comedy family drama. It’s about the Bluth company who are in the real estate business, and unfortunately, the father has made some questionable decisions in the past, which ends him up in prison.

His family has to pull together to save the business, and it just comically gets worse and worse. It’s well worth a watch, and there are many reasons to get through. What I loved about it was it is very light hearted and honestly well worth your time.

Black Mirror

Black Mirror is an amazing show. If you want to watch something that will open your mind and make you question entirely everything you think about how the future will change us, this is the show for you.

After seven episodes of this show, I questioned everything. The second season and third season were my favorites, and I thought it was gripping and just had so much to offer you as far as keeping you focused on something else apart from indoor cycling. It’s a Netflix originals series and will give you lots to think about when it comes to the future and the new generation were going into. I hope we see a new season soon.

Money Heist

Money Heist is a show I honestly questioned if I would like it. It all starts with a bank robbery in France with an utterly unsuitable team who you question how they work together. Over time as you get to know the characters, the show really does make for some amazing watching.

You feel very connected to the characters, and the journey takes many different turns. It is well worth watching, but don’t get any ideas about robbing a bank after we don’t recommend that. You can actually buy the masks off amazon too.

Z Nation

If you are a zombie apocalypse fan, then Z Nation is perfect for you. Watching shows like this while riding your bike I find very entertaining. This show is filmed very well, is easy to watch and has a lot of surprises.

If you like horror shows, this is a great one to watch. The film quality is excellent, and there are actually some funny bits that are lighthearted for their situation. It’s excellent tv that will keep you entertained for plenty of hours.

Cobra Kai

Cobra Kai isn’t what I thought id be watching when I entered the cycling world of training indoors. The show is based on the Karate Kid film, which I personally never watched, but it made no difference as the cast and characters are explained so well. After I watched the first season, there was no going back. I ended up spending hours on the spin bike watching episode after episode.

If you are familiar with Karate Kid, you will see many of your forgotten heroes, and it’s an excellent underdog story. It’s well worth watching, and honestly, it’s excellently filmed and very fast paced, so you don’t find yourself getting bored. As far as Netflix shows go, this is in my top five.

Hill House

I am a fan of Stephen King horrors and movies with serial killers, but I didn’t know how id feel about Hill House. It’s a horror series on Netflix about a family who used to live in a house that haunts them even after they left.

It delves into the house’s past and the characters and, honestly was much better than I thought it would be. I highly recommend it, and it has a few jumpy bits, so make sure you hold on to your bike with a good grip.

Stranger Things

Stranger things is a fantastic show about a group of kids who end up uncovering a lot of spooky stuff. It’s set in 1980s Indiana and full of supernatural forces and secret government exploits. In their search for answers, a lot is uncovered.

It’s well worth watching and has quite a few seasons to keep you busy. It is great TV with an all star cast, and in my eyes, Netflix has made some personal gold here as far as shows go. The first season is incredible, and you will be hooked after that.

The Office US

I think this is the best series of a TV show ever to be released. The US Office follows the company called Dunder Mifflin, and it’s a paper company in Scranton in the US. It runs through the day to day life of a group of entirely mismatched people.

The show is hilarious, and honestly, you can watch it again and again, and it just gets better and better. If you like comedy and want nine series of amazing watch time, this is the show for you.

An Honourable Mention

Although we can’t talk about all the good shows on Netflix because you would be reading this for days, here are some honorable mentions which must be seen if you find the time.

  • Sweet Tooth
  • Ozark
  • Mindhunter
  • Rust Valley Restorations
  • Friends

Conclusion

To stay motivated while cycling at home, there are many things that can be done. One of them is to watch Netflix. If you like an underdog story, sci-fi, documentaries about the human body, or some of the best reality tv the internet has to offer, Netflix has it all. All these shows will be excellent at distracting you when it comes to sitting on the bike and will keep you well distracted while you spin away and achieve your fitness goals.
