The 10 Best Mini Steppers in the UK for Indoor Exercise
There are times when we sit around in our homes in the dead of winter and want to get some sort of workout done. However, there aren’t always any options available. Normally there are the options of indoor exercise machines at local gyms, but with COVID, that’s not always a great option. Instead, personal fitness machines are becoming increasingly appealing to the people of the United Kingdom.
We have recently reviewed the best min seated pedal exercisers and the best mini seated ellipticals but today we’re going to be looking at the best mini steppers in the UK that are designed to be used standing. These small workout steppers will allow users to actually stay at home and get some blood flowing while they step back and forth between these larger pedals. We’re going to look at some of the best options for these mini stepper machines and see just which ones can come out on top based on their features and pricing. So with all of that out of the way, let’s hop into our list of the best mini steppers in the UK!
Overview of Top Mini Steppers in the United Kingdom:
Xpork Fitness Mini Stepper With Handle
Coming in first place of our list of the best home steppers in the UK is the Xpork Mini Stepper. This mini stepper has a pair of resistance bands and a central pole in order to make sure you get the most out of it.
This mini stepper machine in the UK is powered by a hydraulic cylinder that is of surprisingly high quality for what you might expect to find on one of these small steppers in the UK. Because of that, the entire machine is more stable and feels better to use. There’s also an internal spring that makes it all feel more cushioned and, as they say, “Protects the Joints”.
The dimensions of the Xpork mini stepper machine with handle are a bit… questionable. Some of them aren’t really mentioned anywhere that they can be found online. We do know that it has a weight limit of 280 lbs (127 kg) and that it weighs around 18 lbs (8 kg). The length is about 10 inches (25.4 cm), the width is about 13 inches (33 cm) and the height is about 20 inches (51 cm).
The Xpork Mini Stepper does have the benefit of having an LCD monitor. This screen can show statistics like your number of steps, calories burned and time. It’s not the most advanced, but it is appreciated. There are rubber grips on the floor to prevent skidding and an adjustable pole to make sure people of different height can access it.
The price of the Xpork mini stepper sits right around £100. It is a pricey piece of equipment. This might stop some people from going for it. However, you do get a good piece of equipment with bonus features like resistance bands and the aforementioned LCD screen.
- Cushioned Feel, Handlebars, Adjustable step height, Resistance band, Solid Build, adjustable handlebars, waist exercise, weight holders.
- Small monitor and handlebar
Sportstech Aerobic Stair Stepper
In second place of our list of the best mini steppers of the UK, we’re looking at the Sportstech Aerobic Stair Stepper. This mini twist stepper in the UK with resistance band has a bright red and black look so that you know you’re getting it done.
The type of resistance or power that you’ll find on this stair stepper is a powerful load-bearing double hydraulic resistance rod. This allows for a lot more weight to be put on the V-shaped stepper. The hydraulic capability is also fairly quiet.
As for the dimensions of the Sportstech Aerobic Stair Stepper, you’ll find that it is much more straightforward than the HOMCOM portable mini stepper in the UK. It measures out to be 23 inches (60 cm) long, 10 inches (25 cm) wide and 13 inches (33 cm) tall. It can hold a maximum weight of 265 lbs (120 kg), while it weighs right around 20 lbs (9 kg)
You will also find a small LCD screen onboard this mini stepper as well. You can see the frequency, steps, scan and calories burnt all on this tiny little screen. There is a pull rope that comes with it, if you want to get some upper body exercise in alongside. The pedals are anti-slip, making the experience a much more stable one.
The Sportstech Aerobic Stair Stepper costs right around £80, which is still a decent amount to be paying. This is a good machine that should allow for men, women and children to all get some steps in throughout the day.
- LCD Screen, Adaptable Range of Motion, Included Pull Rope, Comfortable Steps
- Costly, Small LCD Screen
Ultrasport Mini Swing Stepper
Rounding out the top three of our list of the best mini stepper reviews and comparisons in the UK, we have the Ultrasport Swing Stepper. We go from bright pink to black and silver in terms of the design here.
The degree of resistance of the Ultrasport Swing Stepper can be adjusted based on the user. This makes it a good option for both beginners and the elderly, who might need some time to get to that expert level. It allows for upwards and downwards movements, as well as those that move side to side.
The dimensions of the Ultrasport Swing Stepper are quite detailed. It measures out to be 17 inches (43 cm) long, 15 inches (39 cm) wide and 8 inches (22 cm) tall. It weighs right around 15.4 lbs (7 kg), yet can hold a maximum weight of 220 lbs (100 kg).
There is an extremely small LCD screen that comes with this stair stepper machine. It can display stats like training time, the number of steps per minute and calorie consumption. The pedals are non-slip and are large enough to hold the vast majority of users. There are complaints about the longevity of the machine, which
The Ultrasport mini stepper with resistance bands costs around £50. This is not a bad price, although the most common complaint about this machine is its durability. Users report breaking or resistance inconsistencies not long after receiving it, which is certainly not ideal.
- Cheap, Small Footprint, Adjustable step height, Challenging Resistance, Resistance Bands
- Tiny LCD Screen, Concerns About Durability
Sunny Mini Exercise Stepper
In fourth place, we have sunny health & fitness twister stepper. We finally have a repeat in terms of colour. This time it is black and red, a rather vicious looking design.
The sunny health & fitness twister stepper uses the hydraulic resistance type that we’ve seen in every other machine here. It’s a fairly simple design, with optional resistance bands that you can use in order to expand your workout to the upper body as well.
The dimensions of the Sunny Exercise Stepper are, once again, quite small. It measures out to be 15.7 inches (40 cm) long, 14.5 inches (37 cm) wide and 8.2 inches (21 cm) tall. It weighs in at the 14.3 lbs (6.5 kg) mark, while it can hold a maximum weight of 220 lbs (100 kg).
There is another mini monitor onboard this mini stepper. It displays all the regulars of the count, time, strides per minute and calories burnt as you might expect. The user manual that it comes with makes the assembly process that much easier, which is always a welcome bonus among these mini stepper machines in the UK.
The Sunny mini exercise stepper costs around £70. This is an OK price, but still a little much for what is on offer. There are also restrictions on where it can be shipped; namely in the Scottish Highlands, Jersey Islands, Channel Islands, Northern Ireland, Guernsey.
- Resistance Bands, Adjustable Step Height, Small Footprint, Easy Assembly
- Limited Shipping Options, Tiny LCD Screen,
Bonnlo Up-Down Mini Stepper
The Bonnlo Up-Down Stepper is next up on our list. This time we switch to a rather unique black and yellow colour design.
Another stepper with hydraulic resistance, this one has a similarly good performance to that of the Ultrasport stepper. Indeed, it is extremely similar in that it can be used for up-down stepping and side-to-side stepping, as well as changing the resistance for those that might need or want to do so.
The dimensions of the Bonnlo Up-Down Stepper measure to be right around 12 inches (30 cm) long, 12 inches (30 cm) wide and 6.3 inches (16 cm) tall. The actual weight of the machine isn’t mentioned anywhere, but it weighs about the same as the Ultrasport stepper: 15.4 lbs (7 kg). It does have a max user weight of 220 lbs (100 kg).
The tiny LCD screen makes another appearance here, tracking the same time, calories burnt and steps per minute that are present in the other screens we’ve seen so far. It’s got a sturdy steel construction and anti-slip pedals that will generally allow you to stay steady onboard the machine.
The Bonnlo Up-Down Stepper costs in the similar price range to the Ultrasport Swing Stepper. It’s right around the £40-£50 range depending on when and where you’re buying it from. There are some complaints about the pedals becoming slippery after a while, which is not ideal.
- Stable Construction, Decent Resistance, Cheap, Resistance Band, Floor Mat
- Slippery Pedals After A While, Tiny Screen
DACHUANG Mini Stepper Machine
Coming to the midpoint of our review, we have the DACHUANG Mini Stepper. We have a different colour of the rainbow this time, with red being the colour of the day.
The hydraulic cylinders make another appearance, powering the machine as we have come to know it as so far. You can alter the height and swing to your liking, giving you different challenges as you keep the stepping motion going. This is controlled through the small tension knob.
The dimensions of the DACHUANG Mini Stepper measure out to be 15.7 inches (40 cm) long, 15 inches (38 cm) wide and 8.5 inches (21.5 cm) tall. It weighs 14 lbs (6.5 kg) and has a maximum weight limit of 265 lbs (120 kg).
In terms of features, you get a little LCD screen that shows total step count, time and burned calories. Admittedly, this is very small and doesn’t track them very well. There are also resistance bands that come with the stepper in order to give you a different option for the whole body workouts.
The cost of the DACHUANG Mini Stepper is where it becomes a little questionable. It costs right about £60, which is a bit much for what is offered here. Some users have reported some quick breakages, which is most certainly not ideal.
- Small Size, Solid Resistance, Adjustable Step Height, Resistance Bands
- A Bit Too Costly, Reports of Broken Machines, Inaccurate LCD Screen
Lions Aerobic Mini Stepper
Coming in seventh on our list is the Lions Aerobic Mini Stepper. A plain old black and white colour scheme is the one that makes the appearance here, which suits the stepper well.
Once again, you have a basic double hydraulic system that makes the resistance system work. It’s a machine meant for those with joint issues and who want a low impact workout, so don’t expect to be getting fit for a football match on this mini stepper. There are resistance bands that come with it, allowing you to make that fitness journey a more complete one.
The dimensions of the Lions Aerobic Mini Stepper are still small, as you might expect them to be at this point. After all, that’s why they are called mini steppers. It measures to be 8 inches (21 cm) wide and 12.6 inches (32 cm) tall. While the length is not listed, the 16.5 inches (42 cm) depth is. It can hold a maximum weight of 220 lbs (100 kg).
There is a tiny LCD screen that comes back for this standing desk stepper. Other than that, there aren’t a whole lot of features that come with this stepper exercise machine in the UK. It has a heavy and firm build about it, but you don’t get any other notable features that come with it.
As for the price tag that comes with the Lions Aerobic Mini Stepper, it costs right around £30. It’s not an expensive machine at all, although you should keep in mind the weaknesses. There have been complaints of too much noise, oil spillings and the fact that the battery is not included. You get what you pay for.
- Large Weight Capacity, Resistance Bands, Adjustable Step Height, Cheap
- Noisy, Complaints of Oil Spilling, Small Screen
Fit4home TF-306A Mini Stepper
Seen in several best mini stepper reviews in the UK, we have the Fit4Home TF-306A Mini Stepper in our list. It is a rather dull looker, with a vague gray-green hue about it that doesn’t exactly stand out in a crowd.
The resistance settings aren’t actually mentioned anywhere in the product, but one can safely assume that the regular hydraulic powering is present here. Alas, there doesn’t seem to be any sort of resistance bands that come with the TF-306A, but you should be able to get some of your own if you are truly desperate for that complete workout that benefits so many people.
The dimensions of the TF-306A are quite small. Though we should point out that you’d be hard pressed to find one of these exercise mini steppers in the UK that are intentionally not small. It measures out to be 15.7 inches (40 cm) long, 13.4 inches (34 cm) wide and 12 inches (31 cm) tall. It weighs 14.3 lbs (6.5 kg). There is no information on what sort of weight it can carry, which is something annoying and disturbing.
There is a small monitor that will allow users to see stats like your exercise time, step count and calories. The pedals are made of an ABS material, which makes them somewhat more comfortable than you might otherwise expect. The frame is made in order to not skid around, but that’s about it in terms of features from this portable stepper in the United Kingdom.
Under £50 is the amount that you will have to invest in order to get the benefits the TF-306A offers. This is a tad much for a stepper than doesn’t really do much other than display a few stats. Even then, there are reports about the monitor stopping after a while, which is certainly not ideal.
- No Assembly, Stable Materials, Non-Skid Bottom
- Questionable Value-For-Money, No Resistance Bands, Monitor is Almost Useless
CellDeal Fitness Swing Stepper
Rounding out our list of the best mini steppers in the UK, we have the CellDeal Fitness Step Swing Stepper. A bit of a mouthful, but this basic white and black stepper makes it on because it doesn’t do too many things wrong.
The hydraulic resistance is back for one final appearance, as well as the resistance bands that have shown up so many times. Unfortunately, that’s all that really appears in regards to the resistance of this workout stepper and you’ll have to get creative if you want some other elements.
The dimensions of the Swing Stepper are still very small. It measures out to be 17.7 inches (45 cm) long, 13.8 inches (35 cm) wide and 8.6 inches (22 cm) tall. It weighs 15.4 lbs (7 kg) and can hold a maximum weight of 200 lbs (90.7 kg). All fairly standard, but there’s nothing wrong with that.
The tiny LCD screen will make one final appearance here, allowing the user to track their time, stride per minute, count and the calories burned. The feet are non-slip and the steel frame should serve as a good enough base for most people. Otherwise, there isn’t too much else to see.
The price of the CellDeal Swing Stepper is less than £40. This is fairly cheap, so know what you are getting. Many reports say that this mini stepper exercise machine isn’t kind to those with joint issues, so if you are looking for one to help with that, you might want to look elsewhere.
- Cheap and Stable Base
- Tiny Screen, Rough on Joints, No Resistance Bands, Lack of Features
Xn8 Aerobic Portable Stepper
With our second to last choice for the best mini steppers in the UK, we have the Xn8 Aerobic Stepper. This one quite literally comes in every colour of the rainbow. You can get yellow, green, pink, red and so on. Certainly the colours don’t disappoint.
There is no resistance here, as this is literally just a step. It offers different heights for you in order to change the different difficulty settings. However, this doesn’t change the fact that it is only a piece of PVC material that you are stepping on and off in order to get fit.
The dimensions of the Xn8 Aerobic Stepper can vary depending on what height you choose to use for the workout. The length of the stepper measures to be 33 inches (83.4 cm), while the width measures out to be just around 12.8 inches (32.4 cm). The height can change between 4 inches (10 cm), 6 inches (15 cm) or 7.9 inches (20 cm) depending on how much you want to challenge yourself. It weighs right around 8.8 lbs (4 kg) and can hold up to 253 lbs (115 kg).
Unfortunately, since this is just a board that can be raised up levels, that means that it doesn’t come with anything else in regards to technology or additional features. What it does mean is that you can transport it around easily and use it for different types of exercise at different times.
The Xn8 Aerobic Stepper comes with a price tag of under £50. This isn’t actually a terrible price, but you need to acknowledge that you’re not getting a stepper like any of those listed above. For some people, this just isn’t what they are looking for.
- Stable, Made of Comfortable Material, Offers Different Challenges
- Not A Hydraulic Stepper, No Technology With It, No Resistance Bands
Buying Guide to Find a Good Mini Stepper In the UK
Now we’re going to state some of the individual components you should look at to make sure the step exercise equipment you are interested in is right for you.
Monitor: Almost all of the ones that contain a monitor have extremely tiny monitors. So if you can find one that has a monitor that is accurate and visible, that’s a good one.
Price: The home steppers in the UK aren’t universally that expensive, but you will have to set a bar on how much you’re willing to spend. Otherwise you might end up with a product that is too expensive for what you get.
Durability: The durability of these mini stair steppers in the UK is quite important. After all, you don’t want to drop £50+ on one of them and have it break less than 2 months into use.
Resistant Band: Aside from the motion (up/down or twist), the second most important feature is the resistance cord when buying a good home mini stepper machine in the United Kingdom. It allows you to have more balance and do upper body exercise.
We think that the best traditional mini stepper in the UK comes from HOMCOM. It simply offers the most durability and features that you’re going to find among these options. Of course, for the non-traditional type, you can look at the Sunny Health and Fitness Aerobic Stepper in order to get that different experience. But as always, we recommend doing your own research in order to find what fits you best. Now get out there and get stepping!
If you want a good mini stepper then I think you should invest £100 on it. HOMCOM Mini Stepper with handle is a good buy from what I’m seeing. Haven’t got one (yet) since I’m still browsing but this looks like one of the better ones.
I own the HOMCOM mini stepper and it’s definitely worth the money. Been working with it for at least a year and it shows. My stamina has increased considerably and I love seeing my progress on the LCD monitor. I wouldn’t advise you to go for a very cheap stepper. Go for quality and you’ll get quality health.
Agreed. £100 should be the main criteria. It’s also how much this will last and what it can do for your health. And this has the LCD screen that makes a big difference.
